I just made a Logistics character, and I'm not sure what to do with them.
I've considered becoming a dropship pilot, but it looks like a very difficult and complicated experience, so I'm not sure if I still want to do it anymore.
I'm considering using a Swarm Launcher as my main weapon, but I don't know if that would severely hinder me and make me useless.
I'm absolutely lost on what to do, as I don't want to spend all of my skill points and then realize I hate what I've specced into. |

The good thing is you don't have to decide right away.
The militia gear is a great place to start since you don't need the skills to use them. The gear gives you a flavor of the playstyle. From that you can decide what is your favorite. |

Logistics suits are pretty versatile. They have armor, shields, and maneuverability comparable to assault suits.
Their main advantage over other dropsuits is their high number of equipment slots. Equipment slots are used for things like repair tools (healing armor damage to dropsuits and vehicles), nanite injectors (reviving fallen comrades), nanohives (refilling ammo), and drop uplinks (deploy-able spawn points).
This lends them towards (but does not confine them to) supporting roles, as they can single handedly revive, repair, and refill (the ammo) their allies, where most other dropsuits can only do one or two.
Personally I would recommend against using the swarm launcher as a primary weapon because, unlike the rocket launchers in most games, the Swarm launcher will not fire unless locked on to either a vehicle or an installation (gun emplacement, supply depot, etc). It will not lock on to infantry.
I hope this information helps, and like Mr. NORIC says, you don't have to decide right away. |

Ah yes, I knew that about the Swarm Launcher, but I wanted to know if it would make me useful or not.
Anyway, I've decided to spec into becoming a Pilot, and I need like 40k SP points before I can purchase the last skill I need before I can get a dropship. |

You really shouldn't, dropships are still quite useless in this game. They used to be good but then the nerf bat swung one time too many. I'd focus on HAVs or infantry skills if I were you and become a pilot later when they sort the ships out. |

Whatever you do, don't go with the swarm launcher- if you only have one weapon, use something that can kill infantry. I personally use an SMG (I'm a logi driving LAVs), because I don't really need a handheld weapon, but it can still do the job when I'm caught with my pants down without a vehicle. |

I'm loving a logi dropsuit with mass driver and flux grenades
Logis can carry a lot of equipment to help the team, if you are not sure what you want to skill just try out with militia fitted suits. Something like this: Militia Logistic Dropsuit High: Militia Shield extender Low: Militia Armor plate and Armor repair Militia Locus Grenade Equipment: Militia Nanite Injector and Militia Repair Tool
Assault rifles are a good all round weapon, smg's are good too but have really short range.
Don't use the swarm launcher as a primary weapon, the logi suit doesen't have a sidearm and you will be kitten if any infantry sees you.
Dropships are cool but don't skill for them immediately, work on your core skills (armor, shield, fitting skills) and try a militia one, then if you like it traing for small turrets and then for the dropship itself.
Dropships and logis are most useful with a team with mics. |

I've already specced completely into Dropships.
I need about 15 more matches before I can buy the last skill needed, then I'm gonna give them a try. I know they aren't that viable, but keep in mind that this is still, for the most part, one of my alt characters. If I don't like it I can always delete. |

You definitely want an armor rear tool. While you re bust fixing your teams armor, they will likely be fighting so you also have to take care of yourself.
For a primary weapon I suggest the laser rifle. It's a really good support weapon when you are repping heavy armor and need to help fight because you end up at a good range, and not many people get close to you unless the team mates around you get wiped out*.
* at the moment there are so many n00bs they don't even stand still to get repaired.. ditch those dudes,, and find a team that is working together. A lone Logi is a sad sight. |

Basically this for me but instead I use Light weight damage modifier and Nanohive resupply just so that I can go around the battefield with more ammo until I get to supply depot.
You are going to need to buy quite frequently during the game but it is worth it. |

I will tell you what I do. I basically play like a soldier running and gunning and focusing on objectives and I use my logi tools to heal up guys and pick up the fallen. I tried just constantly healing people like a Team Fortress doctor but I didn't like that too much and it only seemed to work ok in some situations. Remember you build your own class, so you can build a pilot who can heal and revive, think of yourself as a para rescue type? I play right now as combat medic, say 80% combat and 20% medic. I have to shoot people often before I can pick up the fallen I find. Don't worry you can't "screw up" your character this soon. |
