I'm considering getting the merc pack, but I can't seem to find information on the actual stats of the two blueprints you get. I see a lot of people saying the package is a good value and it certainly looks that way with the aurum added in, but if I'm dishing out RL money I want to know what I'm getting. The other items don't mean anything to me, only the blueprints. (Basically, if I'm good enough to make the Isk back to buy those items regularly the extra is nice but unnecessary, and if I'm not I'd rather not get used to them.) |

I haven't compared the Dragonfly scout suit to the Militia scout suit, but it does have two low-power mod slots while the Militia has only one. Don't know about the SMG.
Not sure if you are confused about the currencies: ISK is an in-game currency you earn by playing Ambush and Skirmish games, and can use for skills and some gear. You don't get any with the merc pack. You get AUR with the merc pack, and AUR can only be gained by spending rl money (at least currently). You can buy one-use AUR gear with it, or BPOs which can be used an unlimited # of times.
So you don't get any ISK back with the merc pack - you save ISK by not having to buy Militia Scout dropsuits or the SMG if you use those two. If you go heavy and never use an SMG, you don't get any benefit. |

The merc pack is worh it simply for the toxin smg. What an awesome weapon, even if it is just an unlimited standard smg. The dragonfly is a standard scout suit which has no skill requirements and unlimited uses. |

Both the Toxin and the Dragonfly are Meta 1 items, so in essence they are the same as the type one gear that is a step above militia. They also can be used without skill unlocks making them "militia +". The 30-day active booster is great and the AUR in the pack is a good value as well. The rest is just icing on the cake (tho don't underestimate the value of either the grenades or the uplinks, I know many vets who are sad when they run out of those).

Thanks indeed for the quick replies!
Arra, I was assuming that the consumable items were buyable with Isk as I didn't examine them closely, but if they're Aurum consumables, that's even more reason for me to avoid temptation!
Musta, Cross, I have no idea yet what the meta ranking represents besides a sort of general power scale, but knowing it's the same (statwise) as the first tier of standard gear is exactly what I needed. |

The smg is great, and the scout suit stats are the same as the valor suit.
Overall, I'd say the pack is worth it. |

Meta Level is just a general measurement of the overall stat value of the item in question.
So in essence Meta Level = Average Quality
For context Militia is meta 0, and Proto is meta 5 (officer gear which cannot be purchased but can be salvaged, like some of the gear from the Merc Pack, is on average a higher meta than Proto).

Identical but differently named items are buyable with ISK, but with Merc pack you get them in unlimited quantities without using ISK, ever.
Merc pack is a really good deal overall, and I'm picking up my third one tomorrow. |
