Been having a right good time playing with the Newberries tonight. I thought I would start a new character to be fair and all but dem crazy noobs just crack me up... Thought I'd start a wee thread to share our crazy noobs stories ...I'll start
Not one newberry seems to be put off by the fact I'm carrying a God dam handcannon (HMG) and proceed to rush me lol even had one guy in a scout suit run at least 50m just to shoot me with his scrambler. I just got down on one knee and waited for the crazy noob to get a few shoots of before I unleashed the beast.

was surrounded by 3 newberries who with their combined firepower decided its best to melee me instead, so i just did some strafing and took out 2 guys with my AR ran out of ammo (was low on ammo at that time) last guy tried to charge at me so i pulled out the scrambler and managed to get a head shot. 3 easy kills in a row 
still have no idea why they didnt just shoot me instead of trying to melee me 
guess thats newberries for ya |

There's some serious drawbacks to consider
You need a heavy suit which means your going nowhere in a hurry
They have short range so if you go up against one keep your distance
They overheat through continued use and take an age to cool down (and to reload)
Going heavy is expensive |

I was playing Skirmish, and I swear the same newbie kept getting fooled by my remotes. I always place a remote explosive on the null cannon once I hack, and I saw this red dot always running for it, trying to unhack it. Now matter how many times I blew him up, he always came back to try and hack it again, giving me a ton of easy kills. I was chuckling the entire time. |

Most of them Ambush newbs have their circle buttons stuck or something. I mean they run like headless chickens, sure, they even shoot (at the sky?) sometimes. But when they go down they punch out before their bodies hits the ground. I'm a logibro and while I look after my team I also track deaths in vicinity. Circle mashing is not a good skill for Ambush, where every frakking warm clone counts.
They also have no clue on how to get ammo, or that they are actually carrying it. Fortunately it's easy enough for them to die and get a fresh loadout... hm. |

Last night I tried to run a guy over at full speed and missed so I jump out ( with LAV running off at full speed ) and this dude keeps shooting at the LAV instead of noticing me lol
And a Nub moment of myself.
I was heading strait for a Tank in My LAV ( at full speed ) I jump out so the LAV will strike the tank hopefully destroying it but no only My LAV blew up thus killing ME as I had not jumped out early anough. |

Upon realising the sheer amount of newberries playing, I grabbed my trusty sniper, a nanohive and headed straight to hills. Got myself in a nice position where I could cover A,B and C, set up camp, cracked a beer and opened up a bag of popcorn...
Oh my! The pleasure! One after another they fell, as about 10 of them tried to hack C! I was grinning from ear to ear and almost fell off my chair when, they all respawned and headed straight for C once again!
The word, lemmings, springs to mind!! |

i love the newberries who think a melee is a instant kill, even when carrying a shotgun. 3 times so far i have benn punched in the back by someone with a shotgun, i proceeded to mince them with my HMG. |

I sit my tank under the car port thingy in that one map while in ambush. Red dots don't even notice me, running down the middle of the street, ignoring all ideas of cover or team play. The few that do realize I've been there for 3 minutes throw locust grenades at me while completely leaving any idea of cover behind. And those that switch to missiles also stand in the middle of the road to try to get a shot off on me.
And then someone Q.Q ed in Local! I said I was doing them a service. Respect the tank and be aware of whats going down on the battle field around you. |

I had some newberry breakfast.
Had about 7-8 of them around my tank shooting me......with AR's lul! was sooo funni, shoulda seen them new berrys tryn' to bring me down.
In the end I just felt bad, so I stuck my 80g blaster up there beeps and you know the rest ;) |

Crazy but perhaps not funny. What is with these guys! I had several 'squat' in front of me last night, facing me while I am trying to snipe! One tried to melee me from behind, stood in front of me and opened up with his AR but to no effect. Eventually he jumped into the canon a short distance away and turned it on me. Realizing I was not going to die he gave up but I was considering commiting suicide just to end the pain. So annoying! Had to PM him to tell him it was the orange dots he was supposed to be killing!
I play for fun and admit to being fodder for some of the more skilled players but I cannot ever remember being that stupid. |

Think long term like 1 year out long term.
A skilled up heavy is a walking tank with a bad a$$ gun, pair up with a Logi and that heavy is almost unstoppable.
Here is the catch, in order to become this walking tank you must skill up in it which takes some time and effort.
Assault with an AR well is just easy mode. |

To stay on topic.
Took out 8 of the little fellas in a row while they stood in the middle of the road and shot at my LAV with AR's.
I had so many nooberries under my LAV it stopped moving.
Sad part was that none of them respawned in with any kinda of AV so I just kept on going back and forth hitting them 1 or 2 at a time.
I had 29 kills from death taxi that round. |

I joined the squad of a pair of guys who were talking with each other on comms like they knew each other, but noticed they weren't in the same corp. They proceeded to tell me that it didn't matter what corps they were in, but that corps were just like brands... Also they had no idea there were forums or that DUST was connected to Eve. I think there could be a few things that the intro or load screens could tell you that would open up peoples minds or learn better.
A few minutes into the match I was following one of them around and it was clear that they had no idea what the purpose of the skirmish game was. I guess they just didn't listen to the lady at the beginning of the skirmish. They were overwhelmed on a 5 point map that it seemed like there weren't clear front lines, that shotguns weren't supposed to be carried by heavies, that more than just people could be destroyed....and more. There was so much I thought that was intuitive, but apparently a lot of things don't have learning analogs from other games.
Oh yeah, and I killed like 3 or 4 snipers and 4 or 5 others on the 3 pt. Manus Peak map with the hybrid turret at C base. |

I was running around being a half-newberry myself with my Shotty Scout.
I was near the top of the desert map and saw these snipers behind a rock about a hundred feet from me. I dashed to them without them seeing me, and two shots later they were both dead. I turned to look at the next rock and there were more snipers! I ran over, but there were ARs guarding them and it took a couple strafes around the rock to kill them... but the snipers didn't notice I was killing their bros, even though I had walked right in front of them. Like, I stood there looking at them and they didn't react. So they died too. There was a third rock as well, but it just like the first one.
Newberry picking is fun. |

as a HMG gunner myself, i did notice a ton of newberries running around rushing at me.... um, you dont do that lol.
Or my favorite is they rush you and jump up and down. I always aim for the face so it didn't help. 20/0 that round.
Felt kind of bad because i was mowing them over so got into my scout/shotgun suit and had a blast.
Funny watching them newberries try to shoot at the MCC as well... still cracks me up |

I like the total lack of awareness in almost every thing that makes dust a good game. some examples:
* Firing at me, not even scratching at my shield and standing still -> i fried him with my range extended laser
* Equipped as scout, running around on the map like a chicken -> welcome scrambler kill
* Heavies loading their rifles up in the open field
* guys with lasers trying to kill me in close distance fight -> how i love my scrambler pistol!
* All of the uncounted melee attacks
I think i could continue this list for ever... but the lack of skills really pisses me of because it's not funny to play against brainless newberries and if you dont have any support from your blueberries. It's like fishing in a fish farm. |
