Is anyone else excited about the possibilities that MTACs bring. I would like for it to be a fully fleshed out class or profession. With different classes or variants to fulfill different roles. MY ideas
Light. Like an exoskeleton. Very fast and can jump very high. With limited offensive capabilities. Its role is like a very mobile scout. Its got special lenses letting it zoom in on things and some sort of sniper rifle or gun that shoots tracking beacons. Its mostly a support type.
Assault. basically a fighting bot for supporting infantry squads
Heavy. A great defensive mobile weapons platform. Slow but with awesome weaponry.
To keep things balanced here is some suggestions. 1. They need to be called in like a vehicle. 2. Cannot capture points 3. Give them a specific weak point like the rear, side or head 4. Make them expensive, limited ammo, and a larger signature radius Anyone else want some sort of MTAC fighting league in E-Sports Note: If you like the idea, or have something to add, say so. If you hate it say so somewhere else. My self esteem is fragile |

Why would you limit a vehicle's ammo? |

It's brilliant, and I really hope that we'll get something like this. My only problem is that people might love MTAC's so much that no one runs on the field anymore. You tried to balance that out by nerfing their ammo, but that's a bit too much I think.
I think if you just keep them mightily expensive and big (hence easier to hit, which equals bigger sig. radius), then all will be good.
I get the giddy joys just think of MTAC's. |

I demand some kind of MTAC melee attack; like a big shield arm that can be used to sweep away infantry or (if properly timed) block swarms.

I will kill all your MTACs with my super AV suit just like I do all your LAVs and most of your HAVs. These will be sitting ducks wherever you put them. |

When i said limited ammo I was just meaning that maybe it shouldnt be like the tanks which have unlimited amounts. It should be more like infantry that have to reload everyonce and a while. Maybe a cool down system is better or it has to recharge its batteries.
CCP just has to make sure that MTACs are not so overpowerd, easy to get into, and usefull that they make Infantry obsolete |

Ah yes, in that case then you definitely have some ideas going for MTAC's. It'll also be interesting to further this as a extension for Logistics LAV's to supply ammo and such, seeing as MTAC's can't exactly use supply depots or nanohives. |

I can think of a few good reasons for limiting vehicles ammo. 1.) Tanks in pub stomps wont blow up supply depots if they need them as well. 2.) Adding ammo allows for things such as reload time and cargo holds to factor into weapon balance. So you can have a stronger weapon when being applied but you can't endlessly shell an objective. Which is why the missile got the nerf bat the way it did. 3.) It adds some much needed logistics dependencies to Dusts Vehicle options. |

Some very likely weaknesses would be: - No eyes on the rear - Rear really weak, making MTACs part of battlefront but not rushmachines - Only one man in MTAC operating (also a strength) |

I know people are in love with the idea of a one-man tank, but if you think about it, wouldn't these changes leave room for the MTAC to be just that?
The way I see it, have the MTAC as a one-man vehicle with strafing ability, but it can only fit Infantry Heavy weapons, thereby meaning that it has to tread carefully when engaging enemy vehicles. Give it the ability to carry two such that it's more flexible as an asset.
