join a nub corp, just get yourself a mic and many corps will take you in. it can be a good way to get help and learn more about dust. |

Join as soon as you feel you are able to decide which one you want to be part of. There are plenty of corps that are happy to take newer players, and you'll enjoy learning the game more if you do it with a corp to support you. |

The day you can get 600 War points or more a match consistently. Before that there are some training corps to you can join. But at least I waited until I felt I had a good grasp on the game. But if you want someone just to squad with and practice I would love to squad up with you some day. You have a mic? |

Only Zion would take in complete scrubs from the top corps. |

what JW said . If you are being taken into a corp via local, it will be scrubby; not even a chance of possibly. If you really want to get into a respectable corp, look at the corp recruitment thread; and listen to names people through around (ie: SyN, Zion, KEQ, PFBz, SI, BetaMax...) |

And yes you need to be able to call out targets. If you see a tank coming down the road , you might be the only one who can see him, being able to warn your team mates is important. |

To be honest Retro Hunter - My first 4-5 months of this game I didn't have a mic. But I joined ZionTCD anyways and even ended up in there tournament team.
So don't lose faith not having a mic. Just try to get one eventually since it helps massively. |

It depends, do you want to play as a lone wolf or as a team player? If you're happy as a sniper and enjoy the public matches, do that. But if you want to be involved in corp matches and then Faction Warfare in the long run then look towards joining a corp.
Right now, as the open beta starts there will be lots of new players thinking the same as you. So I suggest join a corp that is active in your timezone, find out if they have a public in-game chatroom. Ask to squad up with them and see how you go. If you don't get on with them move on to another corp.
Also check out the recruitment forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions in the threads about the corp before you begin, like for example what's the age of their player base if that's important to you or do they have links to a particular faction (in faction warfare). |

Personally, I'm waiting until my shield skills are trained up before joining a corp. However, it's really a matter of when you feel ready to join up with somebody.
>You can wait until you have a grasp for DUST or trained certain skills. >You can join a "new player" corp to aid in doing the above. >Lastly, if you feel like you are up for it, you can create a player corp yourself. Unfortunately, DUST-side corp management tools are terrible right now, so in this case I recommend at least one EVE toon or EVE buddy to help run the corp. |

Right now, I wouldn't waste skills on setting up a corp. If you want you're own corp set it up on an Alt and join that way. All new players should be training their core skills like: weaponry, field mechanics, shield boost systems, [weapon of choice] operation etc

I agree, but I wouldn't join a big corp as soon as I start because if you decide to leave the big corp, because it wasn't right for you, you might not be able to get back to the big corp if you changed your mind a few months later. |
