Guys, we all know that Dust may not hook everyone at first glance because it is different than other shooters. So, when someone comes and post their distaste for something.....it doesn't make sense to flame them. You'll only push them away from the game and other potential gamers. We are all working on making this game succeed. We have to help new players find their way and increase the playerbase.
I'm seeing guys make unnecessary posts as if it is the cool thing to do. Stop trying to fit in for some stupid ass likes. Every response doesn't have to be, "GTFO COD noob" or of that nature. I understand some players are younger but still, we are trying to help the game succeed. And that means not shunning away and discarding new players.

and yet - he's correct. For too long the closed beta community used CoD and BF3 as if bad terms. Now that they're headed this way we really need to consider our word choices if we expect our community to grow for dust. |

Just do as I try to do and post positive things in their threads.
I am sure the ones that have made the effort to post can sort out the flaming comments
You should of been here in the beginning it was a down right war between us Mag players and everyone else.oh the good times
The ones that fought it out have made quite a nice community here, the good ,the bad and the ugly.
So now we just expand a little further and the rest will sort itself out. |

I agree. Flaming the new comers is not going to help us nor DUST. We just need to keep them informed on how everything works and how the beta has progressed over time. We are in a very important phase in DUST development. |

I had the beta long before I actually became really active in it. So, when I heard rumors of the troll threads, I would poke my head in here and there :)
But that's what I'll try to do.....although some may deserved to be trolled, many aren't. But I'm just one guy. We need everyone to get their ish together |

I support this dubbs. But to be fair to those of us that have spent months and hours apon hours playing this game, some of the threads, like the one posted earlier today, are gonna get trolled. Threads like "this game sux" or "I'm disappointed at this fail game" are just asking for it. I'm sure we will see dozens of them. If players want to get on the forums and post trash like that I think they deserve to get set ablaze. |

To people posting negatively - trolling is a proper response. But I think the OP is saying a lot of the threads won't be just people saying, "F*** CCP L2MAKE A GOOD GAME." but actual QQ threads of people not understanding or comprehending something and we vets troll em for it. That sort of behavior needs to get toned down. Trolling has a place around here - and we all love it dearly. Just gotta find that right thread - it's always around  |

I agree we should welcome this noobs with a warm welcome for awhile (until are fan base grows to a size were it can survive)
But we only flame them because they haven't HTFU yet and are going to complain and maon and QQ about everything
And most of those guys are BF3 and CoD players
We don't want Dust to turn out as a clone and become a canadate in greatest FPS along side Cod AND BF3
We want people to go like " this is a dust 514 rip off" or "This should be done like Dust 514"
So if a noob who says.we should so something codish or BF3 like...then its our job as beta testers to flame him

I always saw the old members as a very positive person. Those new-guys are problem-makers. I think we need a section of Q / A. General discussion are not meant for trillion topics with(most often) questions that can answer for hem self. |

Though in this case it is textual.
Another behavior some hoary old beta testers of certain tribal affiliations will exhibit is the grammatical smack down. Since this form of response is internet wide, and can be found on almost any forum, we will not be surprised to encounter it here as well.
But yes, easier and more productive in the long run to share knowledge and understanding. This game can be rage inducing but if someone gets an inciteful response to their forum freak out they might calm down and take a second to make a more positive contribution to dust.
And if they don't, no effort wasted, really. |

You have to admit though when people make comments on the sounds or graphics and lack of overall content makes you question their intelligence and weather they will be happy here/survive in the long run.
