It's not COD in space. The vision and design of this game are what you should read up on. It's not intended to start and stop when you log on and off, with the only persistence being K/DR. Read and I'm sure the scope and potential will excite you. You're going to be put through the ringer for a while (time frame depends on dedication) until you start making meaningful progress, but don't give up and once you emerge from the crucible a stronger player I'm sure you will find the game very enjoyable. |

crazy space 2100046106 wrote: What does COD in space have to do with wanting a working damage indicator?
Nothing; I never said it did. The damage indicator was a detail she mentioned, but I doubt it's the only thing "not doing it for her." I was addressing the unspecific aspects that are further contributing to her disappointing experience. I'm sure she's used to the polish and hackneyed style of the big block-buster FPS entries. I was implying that such comparisons were misguided and suggested she research and understand the game more deeply in order to appreciate its unique vision. It has it's own feel, gameplay wise, and is attempting something beyond the scope of most FPS franchises. |

whatupgirrrrrrl wrote:thats pretty awesome, since i found mag to be really fun that required actual teamwork to accomplish the objectives. Now i'm begining to imagine it here with this behemoth game.
If you'd like to run a few games and experience the limited teamwork that the game now allows for (but will be increasing), add me on PSN: Buzzin__Fr0g (two underscores). You're welcome to run a few games with my clan and me to see the drastic difference in enjoyability when you're playing with an organized group. It's the same as MAG. Playing alone vs. with a coordinated team is like night and day. |

thanks, but won't they reset everything when the open beta ends? or will the characters be kept?
Being kept. The last character reset was January 10th. It's open beta now, so any and all can play and get SP, as well as help to further refine the game before official release. There are no longer any barriers to participation. I guess you can look at the SP head start as a reward for having the dedication to assist CCP as they continue to develop the game instead of letting others work the kinks out and then jumping in. Even if you never submit feedback or bug reports, you're still helping with stress testing. |
