You should introduce an option where you can reset your skill point allocation using AUR. A few people in my corporation have suggested it and I think it would be a win for both CCP in monetization, and mercs allowing a little forgiveness and/or flexibility as they learn this complex game. |

Forgiveness? what is this word? (/sarcasim)
It's bad enough that people are complaining about SP gains and all that stuff, but to wipe all your points and do them again..
I don't agree with this idea. The point of having skill points and skill books and being about to look at all of the skills before you buy them and use them is to figure out how you want to build your character/merc.
If you spend points in the wrong area, call it "necessary improvement". It's going to help out either way. |

Being able to reset is not really in the nature of EVE and thus most likely will not be in the nature of Dust. The premise is that each skill is just as equal to everyone and can help everyone equally. Also there is no cap on how much SP you can get in the long run so if you skill into something you don't use much anymore, you can still just start skilling into something else. Often the ability to reset is required for games where you have a maximum amount of skill points you need to distribute amongst skills.
All that said, perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad idea to have an AUR item which will allow you to reset perhaps 1M or 500K but only useable once a month. It would allow someone who perhaps made some poor decisions about what they wanted to do to get back onto a track they prefer. Or allow some sort of reset with a fixed amount like 1-2M or so for AUR that is single use on a character. |

Yah, lots of people have suggested this. Apparently people who play EVE do not have this option, and become irate whenever a Dust player suggests it. I am all for it. It'd be fine if they wanted to do something like a "wipes all your skills, but restores 75% of your total SP" too. |

You do not have a SP cap overall. If you spend SP on something you don't like, you are not therefore prevented from being able to get other skills later on. New players who make a mistake by spending SP on something they don't want later on merely need to earn more SP to get stuff they do want. So there isn't any need for SP resetting.
The main concern I have with respecs is that you'd be able to spend SP on infantry skills, dominate as infantry, and then when you have enough SP and enough ISK saved up, respect to entirely tank-related skills. |

That's the same concern I have and usually the concern of both CCP and other players not in favour of resets. Which is why I think if you were to do it you need to limit how often you can reset and how much SP. This would then allow people who make poor decisions to take them back or allow someone to respec into a new weapon or equipment, but it will not allow a full on flip from one role to an entirely differant one. |

To quote my post in another thread on the same subject.
Cross Atu wrote:Respec in a game about choices and consequences is simply a poor mechanic. Making it AUR only is even worse as that pushes the P2W side of things.
If this option is included choices cease to have a real implication you simply alter them as you desire. Want to solo for a day? Sure respec into it, want to go Heavy for awhile yup why not? Feel like using up all that salvage? Sure let's just respect into each specialized area to use the proto salvage until it runs out then swap to the next one. Nothing like that free proto ride. And when you run out of the pure proto from salvage? Sure just respec into support/core skills and run free fits until you have more free proto salvage.
Adding this option would ruin the player market as well as increase the "flavor of the month" build/exploits. Furthermore there needs to be a certain degree of parity between both games in New Eden, and adding respec in fails to meet this bar.

NO respec. If you want to train something else just do it. There is no skillpoint limit, you can train all the skillsto lv5 if you want to. |
