So far I raised skills to get more CPU, PG, armor, shields. Also general weapon things like weaponry, and light weapon sharpshooter, but nothing for specific weapons or specific dropsuits. I'm just building up a good general skill base before specializing in anything. I'm still running round in militia suits, and using my exile AR. The reason I won't specialize is because I'm waiting for the new dropsuits and weapons to arrive, then testing them with alt accounts (which I have passively gaining SP) before making my decision on what to commit to.
Anyone else scared of commitment and waiting right now? |

Anyone else scared of commitment and waiting right now? Earnings are far too low for people to specialize. Especially how easy it is for a team to dominate via squads and camping. Squads go straight to kdr and spawn camping. Some are egotistic and tried to teabag me when ragdolls arent even synced.
100k = 1 loadout used 5 times.
Everyone resorts to militia and cheap tactics. No one wants high tech suits when they can grind sp for stat upgrades. |

It can be on topic... suggest a better way to manage assets... because currently it looks like a forced rmt adaption. Buy blueprints or waste time saving money. |

I have no problems using cheap militia stuff, and I don't want to spend real money. Just curious what everyone else's experience is. |

I'm waiting for fighters to get here, but in the meantime, I'm specializing into LAVs. That should get me close enough to the skills I need. |

This character (are we toons?) is a Sniper/Logi Bro. That is how I started him and spec'd him including after every wipe. So I don't have any real problem specializing this guy.
My other I am very concerned that The Wang Hammer Of Doom (WHOD) is coming down on the Heavy Drop Suit but with the usual level of information not coming from CCP I will not spec anything past getting access to proper Forge Guns and HMGs. Which has just recently happened. No Heavy Suits not even bumping Drop Suit Command. Even though the Militia Heavy is just pathetic.
My remaining one is deleted. That is because the pilot/driver is not enabled and a significant amount of overly expensive SP is wasted on many skills that are useless to that specialization. I spent a month with a Active Booster, Passive Booster and was just ready to enter into the skills when the wipe happened. Since the wipe, frankly I don't trust them to do the right thing and this daily SP Cap is just the latest example.
The next one will be the WHOD on the Heavy. And whatever else they decide is too much fun to play or doesn't suck enough SP. |

I specialized Logi and am running around in my A series atm, considering leaping for proto after a detour into some shield/armor skills,
But I'm still a general character (flying dropships/ driving LAVs running my assault or heavy suits, I just stuck a bunch of sp into this suit) |

Yeah, waiting. Spending minimum amount of sp exactly the way you are. What surprises me is even with basic skills and militia BPO gear, things are going pretty smoothly. So far |

BPC items are pretty cheap. I think it's about time I gave a little money to the cause since I've been playing since April and the game is going in an acceptable direction. I'm getting my general stats up and starting to specialize in my prefered armor. So little XP means slow goings and I try to optimize my fit the best I can. Its mostly stats I mess around with so I can fit that one or two more things onto the suit as cheaply as possible. |

Why not specialize your main into what you good at and use the alts to test the gear as it arrives? Then you can adjust your main to other specializations if you like them better. |

You know, before this ridiculous daily skill cap.....my plan was to specialize. But because you're playing so many games on 40K sp, I'm rethinking to just build my suit up. |

Focus on core skill is what I did. As a heavy I did weaponry and got out of the MLT suit as fast as I could. Since armor is garbage I worked on shield and getting shield control. Then sharpshooter. Any time i make a big purchase of skills and leftover SP, ill throw into the "nice to have" category, like circuitry or engineering to help with CPU and PG.
Though right now I'm feeling like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, since my next drop suit is about a weeks wait away, assuming I skill up in nothing else, and log in every day, which I find difficult while away of business for the week..
Half of me wants to just not login for a month, save some passive SP up, then come back after the BS and hubub has (hopefully) blown over.
But I'm sure I'll be working for the CCP man like every other poor bastard, putting in my 2 or 3 to get my 40k.... |

Not really, just went far enough in one direction to be able to run a fit that isn't completely militia.
The most I've specialized so far is 3 levels into AR operation, and one into assault suit. The rest into weaponary, shields and armor. |

Right now I'm focusing on my shield skills, with an eye on engineering and electronics (Or Circuitry, I think we're calling it in DUST) until I get around to putting points into vehicles. Ever since I hopped in the beta my plan was to fly, not gonna give up just because dropships are on the smelly end of the nerfstick right now. :-) |

I'm not going to specialize into something like an AR and assault suit just to realize later that I would have enjoyed it more to have waited for the scrambler rifle and crusader suit when they arrive to spend those skill points on. |

i know how you feel Kage. I've only upped one or 2 things so far; but nothing in regards to weapons. I've always been an AR, but they royally suck atm, and i think LR are gana get hit in the new update (whenever it comes); so im gana hold out w/ my Exile for as long as i can.
But yeah, with minimal SP gains, daily cap, boosters, etc; i think CCP will get a wide awakening b*tch slap across the face from the new people coming in; and that they should of listened to more of what we said (the elite/hardcore players); and less of their in house testing & theorized ideas; as if how they play is any indication of how the Play-the-Devs event went; we can clearly see difference in skill b/t us and the in house testers.
All in all, yeah, no idea how or where to really spec into per say. Its almost better to just upgrade all encompassing skills then specific branches |

I spec'd fully into tanking, but I've got a corpmate that is sitting on 800,000 or so unallocated sp just in case they have a large content drop on the 22nd. |

My name says it all. Been working on support skills, but mainly vigor and stamina (or its corresponding skill, endurance?) because I found that I tend to be quite a good shotgun scout. In the end though, I definitely want to work to go to being a Logibro. Those guys are awesome. |
