4 letter map, team hold C, D and CRU, LR's at table top and perhaps we'll add 2 more around the towers and roof. Can we beat this with tactics of course, does that mean that the LR isnt doing damage faster and deadlier than it should no. Am i forced to engage an enemy in CQC if i want to capture C or D or well anything that requires a hack YES. Go ahead capture C clear out every player from a distance because its so WIDE OPEN with CLEAR LOS everywhere right? Oh i know i should have gotten out my LR and spammed them inside the building forcing them out, or sniper fire and pin them down but then wait i need to sweep them up hmmm i know i'll use hmgs and ARs, oh darn they went under the pipe, oh wow looks like they swept around the trucks and oh wait is that a nade thrown from the trucks at C to the top of the table top or to the supply depot in front of B, better get behind that wall, oh wait more nades.
Sigh, this btw isnt even an annoyance or something i need to QQ over. I can handle it just fine, SMH that you ASSUME that I die a lot from LR's or Nades and that's why i complain, i must die from MD's and flux too a lot since ive made suggestion on those weapons(oh wait i use those...derp). Man getting one hitted by the snipers is a real pain nerf snipers i must have said that oh wait i didnt since they can kill me unless its specced up sniper rifle even then most cant.
Yes use tactics get good scrub i must do these things im such a terrible player i have so much bias against things that kill me i have absolutely no way of removing cognitive/association/lead time bias from my analytical assessment of weapons that i both use and have used against me.
Yes by all mean tell me that its the choices i make that puts me in danger of a particular tactic as if i didnt already know that. Wow how could i be so ignorant please forgive me i had no idea i was such a putz.
Yes nevermind that everybody has access to this (nades) and it can be volleyed with furious thunder sure why not because thats the game we all want when in trouble just press a button and you are safe, no thinking no tactics just push a button and you will be safe.(sounds eerily the antithesis of an argument i just read.)
Oh but wait all your evidence is proof why LR's are fine there is so much cover you're just a scrub who get caught out in the open too much get better loser. Yes but lets ignore that LR's can damage so fast and that the damage potential only increases with time that object recognition sucks and even when behind cover it can still manage to do damage, lets not also forget that they 100% accuracy, very large clips(sorry this isnt a limitation to the heat damage argument), can be swept like a beam with ZERO EFFORT, And after roughly 3s of activation can melt heavies with a single stroke. Is the weaspon good at what it does sure is the weapon counterable sure, is the weapon unbalanced(NOT OP) absolutely. Can snipers kill them YES/NO as mention from previous reasons why snipers arent a threat.
Just to wrap this up here are things ive been killed by that i have not complained about or asked for nerfs

You will not be able to close the gap between you two in order to kill him. You will have to run away and try another route. Or, hope that someone draws his attention away from you hiding behind cover because he has you pinned. Am I asking for a nerf for grenades or lasers....no. But don't post "counters" like those as if they were that simple. the funny thing here is you are saying my suggestions are not practical and yet you in your second paragraph lay out some excellent tactics for dealing with lasers that dont involve a nerf. thing is that those tactics would require forethought and teamwork. unfortunately most of the whiners asking for nerfs would rather have rock paper scissors but they want the rocks and scissors made of the same material as the paper so they can not have to think or work together. well not me i want rock made of rock and scissors made of steel and paper made of paper.
Running and hiding aren't "excellent tactics". Neither is hoping that you have competent bluedots or meathshields. Running and hiding may help keep you alive but it isn't a counter for laser users. You won't be able to kill them by hiding or hoping someone else does |

To the OP: I can tell that you don't want Dust to be nerfed to gaming hell, but you don't have to go about dropping names in an insulting manner to get your point across, it just doesn't work that well.
CCP, might I make a personal request: please make Dust the awesome game that you want it to become. Ignore the players that will cry 'fail' for every aspect of the game without giving a valid reason. Instead, listen to the ones who do give concise and intelligent feedback on what should be fixed and how to fix it.
Infact, here is some good feedback right now: see if you can get those grenades balanced out a bit to where they are not so obscenely devasting. Granted, it is possible to avoid them at times as I have stated in the past, usually through ranged combat and indicator awareness. But when players use the grenade button is used as a panic button to kill enemies at close to medium range before being killed and finding consistent success with it, even when they should have died anyways, one would think that the grenades need a slight tweak to balance things out slightly.
Perhaps making the detonation timer four seconds instead of two would suffice, as it gives would-be victims time to run away from the potato masher of future. The damage could be kept if this works, as it might not matter that much if the enemies can run away from the blast radius, forcing grenade users to use timing with their throws. Speaking of the blast radius, I do not know if that should be tweaked as well, as I am not knowledgable on that subject at all.

I dont say much on here because of these mindless blueberries..I agree with ydubbs and protoman on what their saying...The game has become way unbalanced in the terms of it makes no sense...I see blue dots and red dots sniping a few feet from each other...Ive noticed blueberries just standing in one spot not doing nothing..So theres just a few of us taking on a whole team with heavies/Md/Lasers and Tanks ...An before you going running ur chops...I play a lot by myself to just watch and see...An its very sad what this game has become ..Theres no balance in weapons or suits...Everyone isnt suppose to be the same ...If my stuff is better than yours its your fault for not putting your sp into what I have but you rather have ccp nerf it to make fair...And thats just garbage...Its smells awful...So stop whining for everything to be balanced cause its more unbalanced now more than ever...An dont get me started with this guy on tactics...Its like really little guy your for real you must be joking cause what are you looking at out there..what a joke..... |

Actuallyit is a great tactic if you are not just burying your head in the sand. I have found a good tactical retreat to be good for me and my team, pitt more people don't use it or we might get less QQ threads about heavies. |

Pfft. Half-way run by Plymco? Hell, no. He runs the whole show. In fact, don't cross the Plymco. He is all-seeing!
BTW, the folks still on MAG plan on observing the game's third anniversary next weekend. They're trying to get as many people as possible to return for Jan. 25-27 to, for a brief time, return MAG to its glory days.
All the MAG vets here oughta consider joining the fun.
