So here's the topic. List all the things CCP has gotten right about this game. Its about time we take a second, and look at what is good and what works, and stop focusing on what doesn't.
1. Distinctive Weapon sounds. I like this a lot. It gives me instant feedback regarding the tactical situation.
2. Taking Cover Fire and movement is influenced by the terrain. I like that I can take cover during a fire fight and that it isn't first guy to shoot wins.
3. Rock Paper Scissors Laser beats AR at laser's optimal, Shotgun beats Laser at its optimal, etc etc.
4. Market system Incentive to not charge in and die to get a kill. Will obviously improve once its a free market system.
5. Modules and skills Supports a lot of different fitting ideas instead of picking a class and a weapon. Gives an extremely high amount of customization and we'll probably see different corps using squad doctrines (fast, armor tank, ranged, balanced etc...)
6. OBs People in another persistent MMO game can influence the battle on the ground. This will just get more interesting the more CCP implements features.
I'll just leave it at that, post with your favorite feature of this game. Give the Devs something to look at other than Nerf Scissors it beats my Paper!

Skill progress system:
At the beginning it's simple to get better but it's getting more difficult the more SP you gain. You have to be more concerned where to spend your SP. I really like this learning curve! |

They are doing quite a lot right in my opinion, it's just taking a little too long as they are being overly cautious now. |

Do you address me? I really think it's a fair exponential learning curve and you have to consider a lot of possible options after spending enough SP. |

address, no. it's a guess, and a serious one, not a troll. there are core skills in DUST that should have priority over dropsuit and gunplay. Most EVE players will spot it after about ten minutes of study. Get to dropsuits 1, get a relevant gun skill to 3, then grind cores. Once cores are ground out, then grind dropsuits and weapons to max and all the time enjoy violently large increases in dropsuit fitting power and efficiency.
If that's not what you're talking about i can list them off if you like.

You're absolutely right - if you're familiar with Eve -> you described it exactly as it is. But I'm sure you will agree that the skill system is well balanced between grinding your SP and exploring different possible dropsuit fittings. I would be happy as well if CCP would implement more skills but I guess one can not build the whole idea at the beginning. |

All of the above, plus:
Working around the clock to make sure that we get the best.
Striking the deal with Sony and no micro$oft.
Making it free to play.
Actually caring about the community.
Taking notice of the community input and putting it to use.

Gain 10 years of back-story development almost instantly.
Gain almost a year of player feedback over where any other developer would be at the start of an open beta.
Micro-transactions without Pay2Win (yeah, yeah, I know some people don't agree this isn't P2W)
Help push Sony into opening up to an entirely new commercial model |

I'm a late comer to Dust (but I played eve for a few years so, well I helped pay the bills) anyway
Thanks to the bittervets in the community who have helped shape this game into what it is, because I think its got a lot of potential. It may not seem like it, but I assure you, CCP has taken (at least) some of what you've said into account during the ongoing design. |
