Have you noticed people thoughtlessly and relentlessly griefing you in game and out, sometimes with hoards of grenades, and MD fire, or out of game on the forums with critical and hurtful terms like 'Oh, poor QQ'er' and 'HTFU'?
Well...Welcome to New Eden. There is a term known as 'tear harvesting' that is infamous in New Eden where capsuleers are known for the pleasure caused by displeasing others. It doesn't mean that the player is technically proficient or poor, they are just intent at causing mayhem (which could lead to profit for their own corp). This could take the form of constantly bumping a slow mining mining barge further and further away from his rocks, in high sec, to the point where out of frustration he locks and shoots you. However it is his frustration that gets him killed because in his anger he forgets that you aren't allowed to kill in highsec. Or it may take the form of a 'friendly' corpmate who waits until you are taking a many billions of isk worth of freighter goods through 'safe' space only to have him light a beacon that allows 50 other players to jump into the system and destroy any assistance, in addition to all the precious cargo being delivered.
These are your fellow friends that will soon be assisting you in the skies above. They may also be gracing your squads and teams. Learn to love them or hate them. But you have been warned.
So now you have been introduced to one of the oldest professions in New Eden; tear harvesting. Look forward to its application in Dust 514. |

There are already a variety of ways to enact betrayals in dust. Consider that merc corps can take contracts for any faction. What about using sockpuppet corps to take defensive contracts for systems you want to invade? This is a simple example. Study the mechanics and use your imagination. |

Yep I've thought of that one. Also, I was thinking another could be that you could pay players to make top performers lives difficult, one way could be, as a blue driving a LAV near where the target blue is to make the other team more aware of his location. Or crashing whole ship fills of HAVs, or putting uplinks in terribad locations. |

Goonswarm are the trolls that are like the subdreddit guys. They're a bit more thoughtful where they troll and usually have useful things to say.
By comparison [corp redacted] comes off as a buncha angsty console kiddies who have no comprehension of how the EVE universe works and want nothing to do with anything that isn't simply a new iteration of battlefield or CoD where the weapons all must be equally efficient regardless of cost.
Edit: i'm not going to try and join them, by the way. It's just the Goons and TEST guys are flaming obvious if you know what to watch for. They never QQ, they provoke other people into QQ. And jeebus the tactic works. |

There are no goons playing Dust, as Dust is a game that requires a degree of skill, and goons are universally terrible at games. |

goons aren't in DUST to play the game. they're in DUST to troll new Eden and drive all the pubbies insane. oh and waste vast amounts of ISK smashballing your stuff with horrendous fleets where they expend equipment like it was solely created for you to destroy.
And still taking the space they want.
And not caring that their killboard is red.
The one thing I will give to the goons and credit them with is a combination of ferocity, tenacity and a level of stubborn that makes mules look positively compliant.
(By the way am I doing well trying to look like I have no idea who's posting around me and bulling my way through?)

Tear harvesting? That just sounds so tired and little kiddie.
In this game having players come at you is the best! Then you don't have to go chasing them around the map. |

Point.
Not a Goon myself, but their leadership definitely has some smarts. I can't imagine trying to herd that many bees. |
