(Copied this from something I wrote in a thread in the general forum since I doubt every single thread in there for suggestions is trawled for suggestions ;))
Just a thought for when you rework the SP cap:
There should obviously be a rollover, but rather than a weekly reset (which is what I've seen people suggest) there should be a pool of available-active-SP that holds up to n days worth. This would allow casuals to keep a constant pool, always get SP and still keep up. Maxers OTOH would be able to cap out as long as they play hardcore every n days, regardless of which day of the week they do it (weekly reset would mean they "need" to play the day before the reset).

I like this idea. While the current system is better, but on the stinky side on ok, this is more on the sour side of good. An improvement. Not perfect, but one of the best ideas I have heard thus far. |

That is prolly the best model, provided the max amount is a single week (because most ppl of the world live in a weekly cycle)
The reword the OP suggestion for clarity:
[SUGGESTION: "Currently Learnable Skill Point Amount" -pool
On character sheet you would see "Currently Learnable Skill Point Amount" pool, which is a number. That number (pool) would go up each downtime a certain amount (today's daily cap which is about 30-50k). That pool would have a maximum, equivalent of seven days of amount.
Every game where you would gain active SP, it reduces that pool (number).
Consequences: If you would play all your pool in one evening, the game would go on exactly as now. With the difference that if you miss one day, you can catch it. Or, if you are a weekend player (many are!) they could play their weekly amount in 1-3 days, which is reasonable. |
