now I love my upgraded lav I really do but there's one problem I face when driving and that's the physics between the speed of the lav itself and it's ability to defy gravity I find my self on my side or even on the hood 5-10 times in a game.
strangely enough I never take any damage from it so I'm thinking this is a problem ccp knows about but haven't seen any post about it here and non in the weekly update (unless I missed it)
anyone have experiences or comments then post below my fellow dusters. |

It's like we are playing on the moon rather than a planet. Gravity needs to be turned up. I find the handling is cumbersome in lavs but I only use militia |

I have done the calculations and this is partially why.
Merc sprint at 15 mph. 22 kph. HAVs move at 50 mph. LAVs move at 82 mph.
The control scheme (with a controller) basically makes it impossible to drive. Either slow the things down, give it proper controls since no weapons are used by the LAV driver or cheat on the physics and make using/owning/buying/upgrading the LAV fun.
If someone would update this information to metric it would be nice.
More importantly, would anyone that uses a KB/M tell us what it is like driving a LAV with it. I doubt if if is better from what I saw. WASD and any vehicle has always been junk to me.
You know. Fun. Like in a game. |

The only peoblem I have with lavs is they feel like you are always driving on ice with floaty gravity. When driving one it feel very much like the physics from borderlands 2 whereas the merc physics in dust are actually pretty well done |

+1 I drive LAVs alot. you hit a rock and all of a sudden your in a death slide. Would be nice to not have to worry about speed bumps quite so much. |

Both if there isn't a gunner.
While the Runner is wonky you are not out of control all the time like down in the DUST. If anything the Runners are slow by comparison. And drivable. And you can shoot weapons. In a shooting game. Weird.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Borderlands jeep variant the left joystick is forward back and the right controls the cross hair. When moving the vehicle will head to the cross hair and when firing it shoots there as well. Interesting and a little silly but it does work. |

Yeah, the physics do seem a little bouncy. And that's speaking as someone who never drives these, rarely rides along, and mostly either dives out of the way or just watches the future-jeeps zip by.
On the other hand, I don't mind at all having you fail to run over my head because you're too busy flipping over in the process of trying.
Drive safe, folks! |

I use KB/M as well as the controller. KB/M offers better controls yet still easily spins out when offroad, even when on flat terrain. This is nneds to be addressed otherwise it will never make sense to use logi vehicles. At this point it would be a waste of points. Hard to control, and easily defeated, plus you want my isk and sp points. I'll pass. |

not quite sure if I want to continue down that tree myself brother could just upgrade pg and cpu and put better stuff on the standard one I have now because to be honest I don't see the sense in putting more sp there at the moment as you need level 5 to get the next lav. |

Have you guys tried driving the LAV right? I mean you're not supposed to be able to do a 90 flat out doing 144 Kmph. You slide because your momentum is much greater than the friction that is exerted.
I also have very little trouble driving my Methana with the Torque boosters, and find that the only problem with the physics are the jumps.
You should get it down before saying that something needs to be done about it. I've well adapted to the controls and ways it moves use and them to my advantage....I can drift
And yes I know you drive real LAVs and not those militia junks. |

The torque modules make LAVs handle so much better. The problem is that the things go so friggin fast that a little bump will make you lose contact with the ground. When you land if your torque is bad you can't correct and lose control. I also find it much easier to drive with the keyboard, since you can easily steer while coasting and tap the gas as needed.
Also, with the keyboard it's easy to drift. Drifting is cool. |

It's like riding a moon buggy and I can't phathom the thought why it's still doing so after 9 or so months of being in beta. Not comparable to driving a jeep like vehicle in other games, even though you expect it to do. Result is it being a massive turnoff. |
