...quite like AUR gear
If you're even halfway descent, the only thing your AUR should be going towards is skill boosters, BPO's, and cosmetic things.
Just sayin.
[ I don't actually care if you use AUR gear, it's good for DUSTs advancement as a game. I'm just venting a little ]
And now that I actually think about it, Skill boosters are probably FAR more unfair than AUR Gear in the long run...well....hmmm....high end AUR gear is pretty lame..you save a boat load of ISK that way....::shrugs:: It is what it is, right? |

I save tons of ISK by not dieing
I don't really care, I just get miffed dieing to stuff someone payed $$ for lol. I get more amusement out of killing them lol, knowing they spent actual cash for that death. Venting, more or less >_<

No issue with aurum gear, but I find the sp boosters with a hard cap as trying to milk the cash cow. It would be nice if all classes of weapons has similar beneifts *cough* hmg *cough* though. CCP has to make money on this some how. I would rather it be gear then boosters |

Aha. I try not to die as well but sometimes it just can't be helped, like when you run into a letter with a squad of dingleberries behind you and you die to realize they decided to tan before going into battle. |

I like how it is set up currently. I drive semi cross country, so I get to play maybe 2 games a week. The aurum items let me actually advance without having to wait weeks for some items. Pay to play is fine for me. 40 bux a month or more is pennies compared to the other crap i buy. plus the time savings is great. if it wasnt for passive and active boosters, i might not have played at all. I just wish they had a 30 day passive for people like me that cant play much. |

It kind of amazes me that people are using AUR gear. I mean, more power to you in that you bought it and you're entitled to spend that AUR as you choose, but you must really feel it every time you get killed. Even if your fitting only costs you $0.50, the idea of losing money when I die is something I just can't rationalize. |

$0.50 = 1,000 AUR by my calculations (I am not good at math though) and if my calculations are correct, I don't think anyone spends 1,000 AUR per fitting... |

QFT
the people that use AUR to save a lot of ISK don't know how bad that'll look in Pub matches when we get CREST and ISK efficiency, AUR gear prices for ISK will be so much greater when the player market comes out.
That's why I don't waste my AUR on stuff that is used up for my nub*** dying so much |

so why put a negative stigma on players that use this. If players dont spend aurum then this gets turned off. If things are going bad I wouldn't want ccp to raise prices of booster and uvt and I dont think you do either.
The more money in the game the more dev staff to add/fix things.

Hey, it's this thread again!
CCP is a business and needs to make a profit to continue to provide a product and a service.
As a player I'm willing to either pay for a subscription or pay them somehow so they don't go out of business.
Therefore, I'll buy one Merc Pack a month or equivalent as long as I'm enjoying the game. You should thank those that do since they are paying for your game if you choose to pay for free. |

If my calculations are correct you are a pedantic nerd. The point wasn't the amount lost, you mouthbreather, it was the fact that you're losing money every time you die. |

my passive boosters already cost enough imo but yeahh.
I'm not saying anything bad about those that use AUR gear that is depleted, just saying saving ISK is a lolz reason to use it in pubs
and I also only use BPOs in any pub match |

Why the hell do we care what someone else buys with AUR? I sure as hell don't.
You wanna buy the killswitch? Have fun with that, good practice for when CCP opens the player market and you are able to sell them to other players for 2-3x or more what a proto rifle is worth to newbs who want bigger, better, and most importantly, faster. |

I use some free stuff I got from beta events like skinweave suit and such they r better than militia but still free so that's cool. If u use militia gear and still do well then u are a true warrior. I use it only sometimes when I run out of my mods on main suit and don't do too bad. Gl With that |

I use a broadside in pub matches. someone told me it costs 3.5 cents in USD. I never bothered to add it up myself. I suppose that may seem like a lot to some, but even if I play penny poker with my friends, I spend more than I would in aurum gear for this game. So if it somehow gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside to kill me because I buy aurum gear, that's alright with me. This is very cheap entertainment. I'm happy to support it. |

Bear in mind, folks, that some of us have AUR because back then the mercenaries pack, or whatever it was, was the only way to be able to play throughout the entire closed beta.... okay, that kind of sucks, too. I paid to play a beta.... I'm an idiot.
As a new heavy, I'm also going to use (as part of my weaker defense) that heavy fittings are too damned expensive, especially while you're trying to grind for SP. This excess AUR I'm sitting on takes a lot of the sting out of it.
No worries, continue on with the mocking. My heavy is the one with flames and racing stripes... the stripes make me move faster. The flames are pure hubris. My forge gun wants a hundreth of the HMGs ROF....

For the price of a pint -ú3 you can grab 8000AUR, I believe it's 50 AUR a Killswitch so thats 160 Killswitches which would last me well over a month.
If you where togo the blindfire route you could get 400.
So for 20mins of enjoyment at -ú3 for a beverage you can have a 6 weeks worth of melting faces. All preference and not being a tight fisted git.
The games free, im looking to spend around -ú20-40 a year, in all honesty I expect the amount I spend annually to go down as i need less and less skill points, in perspective thats what I have been paying for COD the last 5.
For the price of the COD DLC pack's you get a years worth of AUR. |
