Hello everyone, it's been quite a few months since I posted here and actually played Dust. I have some free time to actually play it again and see how it's progressing.
I am currently on a dilemma as to what skill group I should spec first for my toon. I always went with getting my weapons skilled decently first then all the other stuff such as engineering, electronics, shields etc.
I am thinking of speccing my Gallente Scout Dropsuit to lvl 3 first to have a dropsuit with more slots available. Then I'm thinking about speccing on weapons I want and then engineering, shields and electronics.
I would love to know what your thoughts are and how you guys specced your toons. Maybe this would help any other noobies or non noobies alike. |

I honestly go completely opposite of you.
I stack em like so: Shield Control Field Mechanics Combat Engineering Circuitry Other things
That way, by the time I skill into new dropsuits, they will be even better then the ones I was using before.
In Codex, I did this then skilled into Type II Assault Suits, and my HP was so beefy with that suit that with my Mass Driver I was nigh unstoppable.
If I was to go dropsuit then my primary skills, I'd waste a lot of ISK dying because amongst the tiers of dropsuits, they all have the same HP as every other dropsuit in its class. |

As a sniper id go dmg/fitting then the rest.
Weaponry 5 to start with is a god send, add with a decent sniper rifle and your golden. Once you have that base, going for better suits and better fitting only enhances it. I go by the rule of if your in a scout suit and your taking dmg, only getting out of the way will save you. Your there for that one shot, so you better hurt them when you hit. |

I recommend to everyone to think of the skill cost multiplier (1X, 2X, etc.) associated with each skill. You should also press R2 to scroll the list of skills to the ALL tab, so you can see the ones you don't have skill books for. This is my personal opinion: Train the 1X skills first, then the 2X, and so on in at least the default skills you get for your chosen race and fitting, then grab the 1X, 2X skill books and start training those when you have enough ISK. My opinion is based on the fact that these skills tend to be core and affect all fittings. For example, Weaponry (1X) should be skilled up to Lvl5 ASAP. It affects every handheld weapon and gives a 10% damage buff. Also look at the skills that reduce CPU or PG regardless of dropsuit type. By training these early, you get to fit more free militia gear on militia suits. |
