I haven't seen anything on this game in the general media. When there's a new COD, I see it in front of youtube videos that has nothing to do with gaming. How will this game succeed if noone knows about it??
A revolutionary game like this should have some sort of a larger than average marketing budget. I understand this is a beta but the open beta is next week and I can't really imagine a huge influx of players. Unless, Sony installs it on every PS3 like they do with betas for psn plus members.
There is so much bad word of mouth press about it, that it worries me. There should be some sort of bad ass trailer for dust just to get people excited. Anyway, just wondering why there isn't more exposure about the game. MAG wasn't pushed either and it showed. |

Haven't you seen ads on movies that aren't even rated yet? Dice has started promoting betas for BF4 & MoH before they even had one for those games.
My feeling is this....they just need to start getting the word out. They've created trailers and such already. They just need to let the average joe know that Dust is coming |

Ads = success (not literally)
No ads = noone knows about you = fail
Do you see the difference? Saying that CCP isn't as rich as COD doesn't excuse anything.

I hear you guys about the nda and beta and stuff...although, they have released trailers and info to the media. Running an ad or whatever doesn't mean you have to detail skill trees and stuff like that.
Really I created this thread because MAG, partly, had a relatively low playerbase because there was no marketing. I didn't see one commercial on the game. I bought it after running a search for multiplayer games. I was fortunate enough to have ran the search right before the game was released. It's not imperative that Dust executes strong marketing plans now, I just want to bring light to it. |

Not everything is about you btw. It was more of general call to arms
Not saying everything is about me...it is just I created the thread so it felt as if it were directed towards me. Especially after some posts telling me to create my own marketing campaign |
