that's part of my curiosity. Unless they intend to just have blanket stats across all dropsuits of a particular type, we need to test those things for balance. |

It means that when they all release you want to use EM weapons to torch caldari and minmatar, and use explosive stuff to attack gallente/amarr. once these release we will start seeing corp tactical doctrines for maximizing armored or shield tanks and weapons that fit that setup with a lot less of todays patchwork mix'n'match. So you will see amarr optimized for shieldbusting and stupidly resilient armor (laser, scrambler) the caldari optimized for stupid longrange shielded combat (forge, missiles) the minmatar will be stupidly fast and versatile with good shields and armor busting weapons (they hate amarr and MD and HMG are minnie weapons.) Gallente will be fast armor (not as fast as minmatar, not as tanky as amarr) with stupid levels of CQC firepower. see: shotguns. Expect gallente AV to be used at "danger stupid" and make the forge look like tickletorture.
I expect the different models of dropsuit will gain suit bonuses based on relevant dropsuit skills sooner or later. |

I will admit I have a hard time believing CCP would stick to making such extreme polarization in infantry combat. I believe we're more likely to see a general stat focus across weapons with a slight tip in the favor of a particular factions combat style. I dont think worrying about damage types and resistances is going to be so broad, likely to be more of an "at the moment" use. If we were going to see that then we would already see AR's with more than one type of damage.
IMO, the most likely seperation between them all will be art style with minor stat changes (i.e. a caldari heavy suit having more focus on shield tank, or a minnie assault suit having more focus on armor durability than shield) |

I would love to have racial variants of Dropsuits and weapons, I just wonder how they would implement this skillwise. Imagine you have invested all the SP to unlock your proto heavy just to discover there is a new racial variant  |
