However, if they're a good sniper, have good tactics and good aim, you're going down regardless of your circumstances.
Granted, if you're running a lower tier suit or something, that nuisance might just get a lucky shot off and one hit kill you... I am a good sniper... I guess. I have good tactics, my aim... meh. Playing sniper right now for me is just a big experiment, I'll probably go back to assault when game launches. |

I tend to use my sniper build for scouting, and support. I run in a 4 man squad with my corp, and I will run around the map, calling out targets, informing my squad of possible threats, and moving in to counter snipe or pin down enemies until proper support can arrive. You would be surprised at how effective it can be to have a sniper harassing a group of players, stalling to let your team mates capture points. I find it highly dangerous to sit in one spot for more than 2-3 shots.
I do however agree, that there is no need for 10 snipers on one side, and If I notice there is 1 or 2 snipers, I simply switch to my logistics build and support the ground troops. However, more often than not, you see people just trying to boost their K/D ratio by sniping, and they just sit in one spot never accomplishing much of anything. I do however love lazy snipers on the other side, they make easy targets, and just die by respawning with their uplinks. |

Been using the sniper rifle as a more of a designated marksman type set up. I try and move with a group only stopping to take pot shots every so often, and when it gets to cqc I pull out a trust smg.
But yea head glitch is annoying though I will admit that I did not realise that was what was going on until reading this and similar topics. |

I've been dealing with this a long time.
Here's the thing. You can also find a small bit of terrain and put it between you and the enemy sniper doing the same thing. You need to find that sweet zone where you don't hit the terrain yourself, but are barely peaking over the terrain so your shots do not hit it. You know you are just as protected by the glitch when you hear shots hitting around you, but you take no damage. This can be the start of some fun sniper games, as it comes down to steely nerves. Usually the first person to adjust gets nailed, and you want to be ready for him to adjust a little bit to see if he can shoot you. This typically is a huge opening where he is exposed and you can nail him. Especially since being on terrain can mess you up huge and have you unintentionally standing. Better him than you, so be careful.
Now! You'll be free to take a shot... BUT WAIT!
Which sniper rifle are you using? If you are counter sniping, then hands down, use the charge sniper rifle. You also will want as many of the best damage mods you can load up. This way- you can easily one shot a glitcher, and not have to worry about shooting him twice because that is a lot harder. After shrugging off that shot, he can then just hide, repair, and resume an adjusted glitch spot. So you would be back at square 1. When using a charged sniper rifle, a half charge shot will do half damage. A full charge will do full damage. So you may have a chance to get good enough to do a follow up half charged shot and take someone out. Always try! Also, you can charge while in ADS and crouched behind cover, and then ease out slowly already scoped and fully charged.
So back to taking that shot... if you shoot a sniper and see the glitch. Do not fire again. Move. Firing again will just show him where you are at and probably deliver the same glitch. You want to one shot him. That is the goal, so it has to be a head shot. Remember how I said you needed to peek barely over the sweet zone so your bullet flies as opposed to hitting the terrain in front of you? Well, he's doing the same thing. You need to learn to ignore the chevron and your dot turning red. You have to learn to approximate where that small sliver of his head is exposed and nail it. It's possible that you are at an angle that would make it very difficult to find that achilles heel. That's why it's best to move like a ninja staying behind cover and try again.
A small word on profile dampeners. I use enhanced dampeners. I would use complex were I skilled up enough. Using weird bits of cover, and this is sans glitching mind you as well as at times CQC, you can peek barely around corners, take a shot, and move. No one seems to know where I am, and even if someone hunts me down I lose them every time.
Also, there are some really good snipers out there. I get countersniped all the time. It usually comes down to who kills each other the most between two snipers battling it out. It can be pretty fun, and I've had some friendly back and forth mails with players after some epic glitch grudge matches |

If one person does it, it's called necromancy. But if multiple people are doing it, is it called necrophilia? |

When most maps are shaped like fishbowl, the winning sniper is usually the one safe from incoming fire from those below... I hate the head glitch. |

I know a lot more about the bug and how to deal with it at this point than I did then.
Plus, there's been a lot more n00bs coming in, so it's all new to them.

I agree. Sniping in this game is very passive. In most games as a sniper you move with your squad, holding a bit back helping them clear red dots. In Dust the only viable option is roof top or redline sniping. If they made barrel wonder position independent and always present regardless of you being motionless or not and better responsiveness of the scope to the controller I bet most ppl would use different tactics and be more agressive. |

Her fittings are mostly built around durability and being able to tank that first hit - often even from a Charge Sniper. She quite often gets shot by an enemy sniper while lining up her own headshot, then one-shots them before they can follow it up. She's been accused of cheating by not dying "because I had stacked mods" by more than one Sniper. I've also seen her evade most of a Precision Strike then go back to sniping more than once. In CQC, she's not so great, but good HP backed by a decent SMG with reload skills and she has plenty of kills there too. |

To clarify, when I say friendly mails I mean literally friendly... so hope there was no offense :)? I don't know her handle so I can't say... start with a T and end with an N?
I have a proto sniper that can take two hits to the body or one to the head and shrug it off. But I just don't see the point in beta pub matches anymore , so I use a cheaper suit. I can get one shotted in my cheaper suit, but I think it's far more fun that way. Sometimes it even gets me off the couch :D
But tell your girl good hunting, and I will be waiting!
