It is suposed to be an "MMOFPS" It's grind to win. Like any other MMO, you need to play to improve your skills. I haven't gotten the chance to play in quite some time so be assured your weapons are probably more stable than my inexperienced character. That's how an MMO works. I remember in a previous built how satisfied I felt when I could finaly use prototype assault rifles and take down people in a few rapid shots. But hey, it's part of the game; as some of these players improved their armor, I could not take them down quite as fast anymore. If your rifle is optimal from day one, then there is no point in making this an MMO style shooter, you'd just have another regular streamline shooter. |

Maybe CCP should clarify that in a tutorial when the game launches for new players, so they can understand the concept. |

Before you say they aren't try going more than 4 games without hearing one of their squeaky voices yelling moronically on the mic. The answer is because they are morons and don't know any better. I always find it funny when people compare this game to Halo, it shows their complete inexperience with not only FPS but gaming in general. Comparing Dust or any good shooter in the past 20 years to Halo is like comparing Go-fish to Poker. Seriously if FPS was a family Halo would be the mentally disabled cousin. The recoil in this game sure if pretty rough without skills but it's not bad. I suggest ya go play some real FPS so ya can get a proper frame of reference and see what a real shooter is like, not that cotton candy fluff noob playground that is the Halo series. Halo and CoD are mostly mainstream ones yes. The better FPS games are Battlefield 3 (at times), Killzone 2 (3 sometimes), and some other ones. Blacklight Retribution and Planetside 2 are also good PC alternatives.
I agree, however I've seen some good FPS go the way of the dodo for that same reason; exemple: I loved section 8... many people hated it because it took quite a bit of hit to the body or about 2-3 headshots to kill someone because of armour. I loved that game so much and I could not believe that was the main reason people hated it. But it seems the majority of gamers are just too used to COD mechanics... sad really; but it worries me most if it has the potential to endanger a good game, which I truely TRUELY hope will not happen to Dust. |

Well I played as scout for the first time on this new built and I must say this... I got a bunch of kills with militia gear from my first few matches, (got top rankings too)... and even more, when I got the charging Sniper rifle. I understand now how the first poster on this post must be playing the game; you cant run and shoot or move much at the same time in Dust while using a sniper rifle as you can in other mainstream shooters; just find a good vantage point; stop, then crouch, and zoom for 2 seconds; your scope will THEN become stable. Like a real sniper you are not going to do precision shooting thru a scope while running. |
