Grenades in this game and build are much different than other FPS games. Grenades are ridiculous in their current state, you know there's something wrong with it when people use it as a main weapon and their primary gun as a back up. That just makes it blatantly obvious that there's a problem IMHO. Most FPS games don't allow me to sit in a self deployed resupply point that regenerates grenades as fast as I can throw them.
In other shooters I usually save my grenades for when I need them instead of using them at the beginning of a firefight. I'd rather just shoot them and use the grenades for taking out enemies that are behind cover. Don't get me wrong, I'll get behind cover and toss a nade over when the situational calls for it of course.
I believe the only reason for it being common in Dust is because of how broken they are and easy to use. Pressing L2 for a free quick kill in a game where a guy can soak 15+ shots before they die is very tempting, no surprise that it's a common practice in this build.
Give grenades the 4 second fuse back and they'll be perfect IMO. |

Give grenades the 4 second fuse back and they'll be perfect IMO. It's really no different than using a throwing knife/hatchet in any Call of Duty game... Grenade spam in Battlefield 2 was far worse than this... I stand by my belief that the only reason people are complaining as much as they are is because there's actually a developer that has to listen to what the players says, rather than just accepting that it's how the game works and going on about their day.
It's a lot different.. are you kidding me? Just last match I stood a bit away from an objective that the enemy had, that was their only spawn point that wasn't far away from anything. I stood behind a piece of cover with a nanohive, jumping and spamming grenades into the letter where they tried to fight me back from. I laughed and got easily 10+ easy kills from spamming grenades in this game, it's stupid. 4 second fuse would at least give them time to react, or make me have to cook my grenades. & they should add a cap to how many times grenades can be resupplied per clone.
Far different than a knife/hatchet, and even those didn't regenerate back. At least those weapons required precision, these grenades have a large blast radius I just have to throw it at the feet and I get free kills.
Regardless of if a game had worse grenade spam, I still believe it's an issue and that's why I bring it up. I'd rather see Dust turn into a game where people rely on their guns for their kills more than their grenades. I like shooting guns to be the primary focus of my shooter games. :)
& before someone brings it up, I know feedback is a better section for my input and feedback. |

That's the point, genius. Meaning I find them useless enough that I will not buy more because I hardly use the ones I have not that militia are good enough I don't need to upgrade So what you're saying is It actually IS possible to still be bad with grenades in this current build? You deserve an award.
Lol yeah.
I heard that later on fuse grenades (the ones that blow up on contact) will be able to be bought with isk. That sounds terrible, unless something about them is changed because they're.. just, ridiculous. It's annoying how right now you can only get them by buying a merc pack, the most ridiculous weapon in the game and it's obtainable only by AUR. A little bit of pay to win there IMHO, for now anyway. It'll be great when people can get the fuse grenades with isk, oh just lovely, I can only imagine how much I'll be swearing. :) |
