Ok so we all are aware of the upcoming noob swarm (open beta) and we all know those same noobs plan to cry about how its hard.
So how about a matchmaking option that's completly optional that allows the user to set the values of what kind of match has players around this skill points
Like for example if I set it to 700,0000 - 1,000,000 and there was a room and everyone's skill points made up a average of 800,000 then I will join that room
I'm also going to come out and say that this idea was most likly already done but...oh well here's anouther post :) |

The current instant battle system will match players together based on skill (not skill points), however we have a relatively low population at the moment and so match making does not work as effectively. Once we see numbers start to go up during the open beta we should see some improvement to the match quality.
Thanks for the feedback. |

Is there any way you can expand upon this? if a newbie gets into a late game, caps a few objectives, panics and kills a red and the match ends he would be artificially tossed in with howdidthattaste and promptly curbstomped if KD ratio or WP determines this. SP level seems fair on the surface but how do you judge this? |

So how do you measure skill if you say "not skill points". It would seem that is the most obvious and accurate measure of one's in-game experience.
Anyways, thanks for the response CCP. |

Anyways, thanks for the response CCP. This is the standard rating system that is applied in situations like these. Games such as League of Legends also use variations of this for their own matchmaking. |

Bump.
So now we are in open beta. The numbers should be way up, right? But in my experience, match making is still creating public battles of 2 or 3 strong corporations vs. random noobs or noob corporations. (East Coast US region). Is it working as intended or is it still broken? |

Idk lately i have been getting better and better matches.
Still the occasional pubstump but i am beginning to see more and more actual squads and not just the reddot useless swarms i had grown accustomed to.
feels good to be killing things that can fight back not just removing defective clones from the population. |
