To me this is kinda crazy, does anyone know why it happens? In eve doesn't matter what ship ur in your structure and armor never simply bleeds away until death. So why is it in dust for shield tanks? Used to use armor tanks but don't remb if they bleed like this. Pretty simple.........armor doesn't just melt away like the witch on w/e show that was.....with the lion ;)......damn can't think of it...to lazy to Google. |

We've been saying this for a very long time. I'd be more ok with some kind of mobility or damage output penalty when near-dead, but punishing people for barely surviving is the dumbest thing ever. CCP is unwilling so far to admit that this was a bad design decision, though. |

This actually happens? Damn. How did I not know that? In that case, it must be removed. |

Lol what's bad is I can fit a remote rep on my suit, jump out and rep it up to stop the bleed.......find it kinda ridiculous. |

All tanks burn when in the lower armor percentages. It's one of the many reasons why armor tanks were ridiculously underpowered in older builds(and may still be).
Personally, I think they just like the fire effects, but the effects actually do damage. So they want the effects, but don't want fire to not burn. |

well in eve while your in structure your ship burns, like really burns, but no damage :) so since the game comes from eve shouldn't that mechanic be the same? or did the super advanced space ppl have super primitive ground assault vehicles? Since I'd think the vehicles would come before the space ships. |

I think in the future tanks should have Halon charges like in modern vehicles. Look, fire's out. back to business. |

At least fire is a plausible excuse for the armor drain.
Having a HAV with no fire suppression is not plausible, reasonable nor realistic even in a Science Fiction war game here in video game land. |

The problem I see with HAVs and armor burning is that unlike LAVs and dropsuits, they blow up when their armor reaches 0. As long as my LAV has shields left, it won't blow up at 0 armor. |

I was curious about this.....wonder if the mechanic was even intentional since nothing else does it, anyone know if the armor tanks do the same bleed? |

I know, I play EVE as well. But in EVE you can ram the sun(s) with no ill effect. In DUST you're a prick in a suit, so they may incorporate fire hazards or incendiary weapons at some point. Also, the fact that there is fire in space confuzzles me. As a miner I don't see burning ships much, but if you can see what is on fire from an external viewpoint then chances are it's already had it's atmosphere vented into space... but I digress.
REMOVE THE BLASTED FIRE DAMAGE, says my experience with armor tanking 2 builds hence. And if you won't, give shield tanks an equivalent weakness, like partial damage bleed into armor like weak shields in EVE do. |

The thing is shield tanks have this prob too, armor tanks have a chance to rep it up but with shields you just bleed. Shouldn't have to suffer in shield slots to fit an armor rep just to rep armor bleeds, and ya I think it needs to be removed for both tanks. |

Right, but with shield tanks you're not fighting against something that isn't being inflicted on you by another player. Shield tanks can just recover from the damage even if they have 1HP of shields left without any other interference. |

Unless you hit into armor then you bleed away, ur armor tanks shield recharged over time right? |

Point is and I don't think you get it, ur shield is a buffer, shield tanks armor is a buffer, ur armor tanks shields doesn't continue to melt off then never return, but a shield tanks armor will just bleed off and die. Its def a crap mechanic. |

c'mon guys we need more posts in this thread, this is a crap mechanic and def deafts the purpose of how eve works with armor buffers ect, can't go armor buffer when remote reps won't catch before tank bleed blows you up. |

Because you can work around a stupid mechanic doesn't mean it isn't a stupid mechanic. You can snipe the so-called 'headglitchers' by standing in an equally tall, out of the way patch of Nowhere, does that mean you should post someone there just to kill some kittenhole abusing it? Should you just quit a match because people have rolled tanks underneath your MCC, which is paradoxically not within their red zone? Just because something is done, doesn't mean it isn't stupid |
