All tanks burn when in the lower armor percentages. It's one of the many reasons why armor tanks were ridiculously underpowered in older builds(and may still be).
Personally, I think they just like the fire effects, but the effects actually do damage. So they want the effects, but don't want fire to not burn. |

Personally, I think they just like the fire effects, but the effects actually do damage. So they want the effects, but don't want fire to not burn. well in eve while your in structure your ship burns, like really burns, but no damage :) so since the game comes from eve shouldn't that mechanic be the same? or did the super advanced space ppl have super primitive ground assault vehicles? Since I'd think the vehicles would come before the space ships.
I know, I play EVE as well. But in EVE you can ram the sun(s) with no ill effect. In DUST you're a prick in a suit, so they may incorporate fire hazards or incendiary weapons at some point. Also, the fact that there is fire in space confuzzles me. As a miner I don't see burning ships much, but if you can see what is on fire from an external viewpoint then chances are it's already had it's atmosphere vented into space... but I digress.
REMOVE THE BLASTED FIRE DAMAGE, says my experience with armor tanking 2 builds hence. And if you won't, give shield tanks an equivalent weakness, like partial damage bleed into armor like weak shields in EVE do. |

I'd be more ok with some kind of mobility or damage output penalty when near-dead, but punishing people for barely surviving is the dumbest thing ever. CCP is unwilling so far to admit that this was a bad design decision, though. Carry an armor rep like everyone else should do. Thread closed.
Because you can work around a stupid mechanic doesn't mean it isn't a stupid mechanic. You can snipe the so-called 'headglitchers' by standing in an equally tall, out of the way patch of Nowhere, does that mean you should post someone there just to kill some kittenhole abusing it? Should you just quit a match because people have rolled tanks underneath your MCC, which is paradoxically not within their red zone? Just because something is done, doesn't mean it isn't stupid |
