NO corp battles, NO messaging, NO squads. WTF? Anyone else join a corp with high expectations and end up completely let down?

It's the first day since the reset, sit down and chill out dayum. This. Many corps -do- have pre planned squads for things such as the tourney, but out of that it's first come first serve. Unless its a really important corp battle we usually just let whoever hasn't played in a battle yet have a go.

It's how you get new fleet commanders. You have to be proactive about it. Dust will be the same way. If your corp isn't preparing to fight a FW contract then there's nothing to organize. Why would I spend my gaming time holding your hand and arranging a playdate with another gamer? Speak up saying that you're looking for a squad. If there's no squads with slots open, then start a squad and say that you have spots available. There's very likely other people who are just as passive as you about it who will join you. This is how "fun fleets", as opposed to space is srs bsns strat ops, get started in null. Someone who wants to fc gets bored and say, "Hey everyone, I have a fleet. Let's go shoot nerds!" Do that. Being a squad leader is waaaaaay easier than being an fc.

That way at any given time at least 4 of the 10 are on at once (though usually its 6-8) and can maintain a strong squad composition because of how the roles are selected. It's still mostly first come first serve, but we still try to pair up the people within the unit that are going to compliment each other the most.

It's the first day since the reset, sit down and chill out dayum. honestly we don't do it, and i think i talk for WTF and GAC too (and i'm sure many others). Of course we do prioritize our corp mates and if in the corp we are, for example 9 we don't make a 2 full squad and one guy alone but we just make 3 squads of 3. It's all a matter of playing togheter and knowing each others until tactics and "things to do" becomes automatic when you are with certain people. But honestly Jason Pearson is right, it was just the first day and many guys are just trying to make isks (and some others are trying to boost stats lol)
