You're one of the most one-sided, ridiculous game devs I've ever seen, whenever such a large portion of a game has ever complained about something SO MUCH, it has gotten changed, in any other game.
This is an FPS, we are not EVE scrubs, we want balance, we want to be able to fight veterans with proto gear if we have militia simply because we can catch up to their SP with hard work, SKILL, and determination. YOU are creating a game that YOU want to live for what was it? 7 years? but you design it to be a one to three year game! this is out of hand CCP. You're ideas are so contradictive I do not even know what to say about them other than LISTEN TO US!

Actually, for content: You don't need proto gear and massive SP to kill people and be competitive. Believe me, this point will be proven time and time again in a month. |

You're an idiot.
Dust and EVE are the same damn game as of Thursday.
They just get played in different ways. |

You guys are really crapping out some arrogance today. Try to keep your idioicy down and stop comparing two different genres of games.
You're an obvious Troll at best, but you could at least put some effort into it and vary it so it looks like an actual opinion and discussion rather than you just trying to look like an ignorant little 15 year old console player.
Different Genres yes, different games? no.
Icy Tiger: SP and new guns/suits will not make people log in to play. That's the player generated content. |

Blunt Smkr wrote:It is pretty stupid they did it this way. Now i gotta keep boosters active 7 days week if i want to keep up with people. An not sure if the sp system is for casuals or hardcore players. Cause a casual palyer is going to fall behind alot if he doesnt buy boosters n doesnt play every day.
This sp system just suks an i know alot of people are just going to say fuk this
SP is not as important as you tards are making out.
I took a 2 month break and have millions less SP than the top guys and can still take them.
I've also got 1m SP invested in corp skills.
That's about 4-5m million... Litterally HALF the sp of people like the dark cloud and i can still play just fine. |

You realise that PVP is already NOT the only thing to do in Dust? If you run a corp or get involved with the Metagame it's much more interesting than the PVP.
There's also the aspects they plan to add, battle commander, production etc will all be without you taking part in direct PVP.
You're not looking at the big picutre and CCP has to lay down the foundations for things to work in the future.
If you don't like it, find something else to play?...

It's also worth noting that there's going to be racial versions of all the guns and suits that will feel unique and they will need training if you want to use them.
Corp battles maybe all proto in theory but believe me, proto gear will not win the match.
Superior tactics, planning and money will win. Not much point having proto suits if theres nothing on the market or you can't buy them.
As for what i know, i know more about what's planned for this game than most do, ask Shad to confirm that for you. |

Every single new player who downloads this game will be first focusing on PvP (and most players who decide to stick with the game will continue to only focus on PvP). If the PvP does not impress, they will immediately quit playing and delete the game off their hard drive before they ever get a chance to try out other features of this game. They payed nothing for the game and have no incentive to continue playing if the game doesn't give a good first impression. The PvP has to be good. It has to feel familiar to people transitioning from other games and has to be newbie friendly. This strict SP cap is not newb friendly.
Not totally true, a lot of people play EVE just because they are mouth breathing pubbies who think mining is fun and that's never been suggested as a play point for EVE.

Terrible game that requires no skill. Proto gear against randomz in militia gear over hours yo.

I couldn't agree more - which is why this SP discussion needs to be taken seriously to make sure the foundation of the game is one where anyone can pick up and enjoy. Not feel like you have to quit your job to keep up with no lifers to not get gunned down in the blink of an eye. I think the meta will attract people - but the functionality of the PvP and how it interacts with every aspect of the game will keep them staying for more.
That's actually a really good post but the thing is people are overlooking that you don't need any more than 3-4m SP to be "at your best",
Once you have the right skills for your spec, anything above that is a bonus and don't really change the game or make you better at it, it just gives you more options on what you can do in a particular situation. Honestly, people who are complaining about SP are the ones who have been trying SO HARD to keep up with everyone else, if they took a break like many of us have they'll see it's made no difference to their game.
They can cry and claim Corp fights as much as they want but there's nothing in this game that can't be fixed by throwing several million ISK at it.

Nobody is downloading this game to mine space rocks.
Then you clearly don't spend enough time in Hisec.
I've flown with the Ministry of Love and there's a huge number of people who mine rocks to build things to sell because those minerals they mine "are free" even though it would be faster and more profitable to buy them. |

That's going to be a massive ******* flamewar when that gets touched on, just wait for AWOXING to make it's appearence in Dust or even just basic scamming of corp assets. |

Agreed to both posts, BUT, you have 3 characters to play with everyday. Specialise each one. Once you hit the 50 SP cap with one switch to the other. This helps keep the game fresh. Only issue I have with the current build is having to reload if you want to switch characters. If in game switching becomes a reality then what is to complain about really?
That's 9 hours of gameplay per day, i have a family. I'll be lucky if i get 3 hours in dust per WEEK but you don't hear me bitching that everyone else will have huge advantages over me with SP because i know it's not important. |
