Most of the current "top corporations" will no longer be on short lists for '"top corporations". Serious shifts in power are coming. It's going to be interesting to see how fresh faces factor into the current community. I'm personally hoping that an answer to the imperfects finally presents itself.

I don't see any corps falling a part just because of launch. We'll probably see a few mergers to compete with the flux of new corps and new talent coming to the game - not much else.
But that answer to the imperfects is bound to come - may be in a form we don't expect too. |

Fresh recruits is more likely. New players are probably going to flood into existing corps.
There is going to be a bit of minor corps created, but will be a while before we start to see different corp names at the top unless players from corps we have now branch off and make their own. |

that way we can take-over corps but keep their names, just own them, get a cut of everthing they make.... like a union with dues.....

I wonder if opening the beta is really going to have that much of an impact on player counts tbh. It hasn't been that tough to get a beta key since Precursor dropped. Most peopl that really wanna play this game have had the opportunity to play it. The average FPS player will prolly try DUST and not like it. It appeals to people looking for something more. Maybe when the game leaves beta phase it could draw more attention from FPS clans playing other games. But u never know..... |

Once you take away the advantage they have over others, they become average.
The only reason they are considered elite corps is because of their head start. Period.
I personally cant wait for the wipe...i came in just a few days ago and its very hard to compete with the current SP level of the majority of the players right now.
Another thing to consider is most of the players right now split their time between EVE and DUST. Most of the new players that come in when the game is launched will not be playing EVE (yet) and might spend a lot more time playing DUST than the current player base.
I would be interested in seeing how many people right now are ONLY playing DUST. |

New players for an open beta will hold a lot of mystery in everyones eye I think personally. Pretty much what everyone has said is correct, easy picking, will probably join already existing corps, and new corps will pop up.
But think if you were in their shoes, what would you want to do? Join a new corp from new players in the open beta or join a corp whose been here since Closed Beta? I think the answer is more than apparent. Not only will they have more knowledge over the game from corps grinding every week to get the next big advantage over their opponent, but the ties with EVE which a lot of DUST corporations are already pursuing will be a huge factor in the long run. Everyone wants an advantage over the next guy, so what's going to stop that from getting to them? Nothing but their own demise when it comes to them joining a corp created in open beta.
At the end of the day, "top corporations" currently can still uphold their prestigious titles as talent starts to become apparent with the newcomers in open beta. The new people will either wear the boots of a "top corporation" or be crushed below them, their call in the end.

ur both correct and wrong. it depends on if existing clans from other games actually like the game and have the patience to learn and stick to it other than that would be a welcome influx of new players |
