So with all the talk about the heavy being op, started coming up with ways to balance the heavy.
1) Increase the price of the suits and hmgs. Only 40k for an advanced HMG? That is WAYY to low. Should double that to 80k. Proto HMG is 110k, increase that to 170k, so all proto HMGs cost the same. Suits, get rid of all of the BPO heavies, so people have to pay for all their deaths. Make both proto suits cost 300k, advanced should be 150k, and standard should be 75k. This would make sure people have trouble running heavy all the time (Which is what everyone wants right, an all Assault game?)
2) Reduce the HP of heavies, and reduce their movement speed. Cut the speed in half, some heavies run to fast. Take 100-200 armor HP off the armor heavies, and 100 shield and armor from shield heavies. Also keep the slot layout at 1 and 1 for all levels, would ensure that someone cant make an OP heavy, as they cant stack shield or plates
3) Increase the SP requirement for skills, and increase price of skillbooks. The skillbooks for heavy suits, weapons, and upgrades should atleast be doubled. The Heavy Dropsuit skill should be increased to a 12x skill, making it take the same sp as tanks. The other heavy weapon skills (operation, proficiency, and the support skills) should all have their multiplier doubled. This would push more people into Assault, as thats the only way they can hope to make enough isk and sp to skill into heavy enough for it to be effective.
4) Adjust the HMG and FG. Make the Forge Gun have to lock onto the vehicle, which would stop people from using it on infantry. Make it so until it senses a large enough profile it cant charge. Take the HMG and cut damage in half. Then drop ROF by half. This would ensure that all the Assaults in the game can win in a 1v1. Also, increase the heat buildup by 25%, and decrease the total ammo count by 25%.
These changes should balance out the Heavy. Should ensure that they are no longer OP or game changing. and yes, this thread is super srs, so please only good discussions here, thank you |

Yes, 1v1 a heavy! I find it so rattling when i go up against a heavy straight on an die, i mean, wtf do they think they are? A class of fighter thats supposed to absorb damage while being balanced by being extremely slow and easily susceptible to flanking?
I find it so funny when heavies get upset at people who argue they should be able to 1v1 them with ease, i mean you'd think they wanted a game where suits specialized to certain situations lololololol |

These are all terrible ideas. Heavies are fine as is. Fix the forge gun by nerfing splash damage. |

How are they terrible? DO they not make it so a heavy is no longer ever capable of being remotely considered OP? Is that not what everyone wants, for heavies to be weak and able to be killed 1v1 by an assault suit?

Also make the forge gun weaker than the vehicle mounted counterpart
Heavys themseleves seem okay but tbh 1v1 you can half health them 1v1 quite easy atm or just throw a nade like evryone else does |

And you forgot the most important thing, take out the ability for a Heavy to be armor repped by a logi. |
