We told you then that if you don't figure out a way to keep the newbs away from the high end guys then this game will have problems retaining players. It's not a matter of opinion, it's just that we've seen it happen and history has this annoying tendency to repeat itself.
There will always be an unbalance in this game due to it's MMO roots. That's fine. But for a player to be thrust into a team death match style game with guys that can't be killed by them no matter what they do...well, there's a wager there. Do they tuff it out and get skilled or do they say "screw you" and rage quit?
My experience has shown the latter prevails more so than the former. If they leave for a while that's fine.If -good- players stay because they are intrigued and immediately challenged, the game will build based on it being a difficult game. We want to be the DemonSouls/DarkSouls of FPSMMO. Then your player base dwindles and the good players become bored at fighting the same few players and start to leave for another game thta has more players pretty soon the game world is down to a few hundred and the plug gets pulled. Difficult and down right unbalanced are 2 different things enjoy your empty world
*** COUGH**** MAG **** COUGH****
Personally I believe that MAG was broken because ZIpper listened to the players...
I believe the players will break DUST as well if CCP listens to all of the QQing.....( its already starting to happen.. been happening) it's too bad its not HTFU and instead it's "you think thats op, ok we will try this...." |

Icy Tiger wrote:We're not getting anywhere at all right now with everyone b****ing about every single f***ing thing. What we need are the restrictions back, so that like skilled (Skill Points and FPS Skilled) players can get together and kick each others asses, while the good players stay in advanced/proto matches, and the noobs stay in militia. This is the simplest and easiest fix to half the communities problems, and then just put a couple of "Open" (hint :null sec) matches where everything goes.
When more than half the topics in the past few weeks have been about nerfing and buffing different tiers, we're getting absolutely nowhere.
I agree with this however the restrictions you speak of were self-enforced.... if you wanted to be a 8===D and run your proto fit into what was supposed to be a MLT beginner game you totally could. I believe the game would benefit from this again.

I always found that the fail of console games is the lack of communication that MMORPGs thrive on. CCP is already handling this well - or at least better then any other game out there on the console. I agree the local chat has been a place where people can reach out find a group or help people
I talked to a guy on local who thought this game was only going to be free to PS+ people they thought this was going to be a DISC BASED game and didn't believe this could be F2P actually it was a group of like 6 people |
