Is there no planets out there that has no mountains? Every map in the beta is literally surrounded by mountains, essentially making us fight in a bowl or valley.
The 3 point map is still the crappiest map in the beta. Good luck running out to play the objective, while a sniper is hiding in the mountains somewhere. Not fun being sniped by Mark Wahlberg wannabe's everytime you step foot in the open to run to the next objective CCP.
I can already hear the counter arguments:
- get good
- use an LAV you scrub
- counter snipe them
- zig zag (aka dodging sniper fire)
- bla bla bla
My point is, add variety to the maps. Snipers are suppose to have a place in the game, yes, but the team with the most snipers on it, loses the match. That's almost guaranteed unless the opposing team is really bad. If you give people a bowl to play in, what do you think people going to do?

Try taking the long way around which has plenty of cover and avoid running through the open area in the first place. If you have to run through the open areas then get a partner to act as bait or provide cover fire against sniper if you pinpointed their location. After all, getting an objective is a team effort and no one merc should be able to take an objective on their own unless the opposing team sucks that badly.
You can also hunt down the snipers by simply running in from behind their own cover. I have done it plenty of times and it worked well for me. If you are daring enough like me, you would even risk running into the red zone to kill the enemy sniper thus taking away their sense of security as you kill them in the safety of their red zone. I have done several times and it's quite rewarding especially when you instill a certain fear into them as you humiliate them. Of course, I'm not asking you to pick up a nova knife. You can instill the same level of fear with an assault rifle fitted onto a speed-fit scout suit.
Remember, with a good enough fit and the right skills, you too can also sprint two football fields in 20 seconds.
Also, and this is important, don't run in a straight line. Zig zags are your friends. Take it from me. I have adapted to dodge sniper fire on a daily basis. |

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question.
Wait until the maps begin to open more. I don't know when, but many hope for that one day when the red zone is pushed back to least 1/4 of the entire map. Currently, our areas are so small that they make 1/16 the total size of the map. |

It's a good way to set limits. For the current "maps" they just took a few districts, and made us fight in the bigger valleys. |

I'm a heavy... I think I play my role pretty well, as I know I'm no rambo...I stay with my squad. Even when I'm with my squad I'm the target...I wonder why that is
There's no zig zagging for me. I'm not gonna jump in an LAV and run down every sniper on the map...that's not the objective unless I'm playing ambush.
Taking the long way? To get run over by an LAV because I can't run up a slight grade? i hear what you're saying, but that advice applies to assault and scout players. |

Just my $0.02 The team with the most snipers usually lose bad. While there is alot of snipers in the mountains they lose because theres a low amount of people defending and capturing objectives on the battlefield. |

This. Recently I played a skirmish match in which more than half the players in my team were literally just snipers and forge gunners perched on a small hill right below the Eastern MCC. We lost the match big time. I knew almost half of them could hear me telling them to move forward and capture objectives. I was even trying to give orders over the comms to get them moving. But none of them budged. Those that did didn't last long because they they just sucked. |

Yea man... chromosome build was a good performance upgrade (minus the disconnection problem + a few other bugs still present) but a couple new maps would have been cool.

honestly id love to see some city maps that provide good gameplay for both vehicles and infantry one thing BF3 had was some good maps, from open maps like caspian to more city maps
id like to see some forested maps as well in DUST....or does everything have to be a barren wasteland valley :/
