So can someone remind me why we would be paying for aurum? Ah, thats right there is no longer a point!
What a shame, no more income for CCP, no more Dust 514, look what you did you a*s*o*e! Whoa, deja vuI'll go ahead and say it again. Passive SP has no cap, so boosters are not obsolete, plus people use AUR for more than just boosters, so CCP will still make money from that. and active boosters? Or are those just supposed to be a con? Something tells me you haven't thought the marketing side of this through.
That's the whole "hard cap vs soft cap" argument, isn't it? One would make active boosters allow you to gain 50% more SP, and the other would just let you gain the SP 50% faster.
Active boosters right now are for people with not a lot of time on their hands so they need to earn the SP faster to keep up with people like you and me who can play till' the cows come home. |

This game was made with the intention of making someone in the world money. period. So why employ any model that will **** off the people who are actually paying the money? Yes I play Dust until the cows come home and yes I still buy 40,000 aurum per month to spend on boosters etc. because I want this game to be developed in the right direction.
All this is doing is annoying the clientel who want to devote a portion of their time to the games CCP develops.
And as for "One would make active boosters allow you to gain 50% more SP, and the other would just let you gain the SP 50% faster." So much for the money cow not having the advantage idea. |

I'm hardly disagreeing with you, my original point was just that passive boosters have a practical use. |

Fair enough, I can concede with passive boosters. I'm still going to rant about the rest of it. And quit pointing out the Deja vu! If I continue CCP might actually read the complaints about the game for a change rather than just posting about forum trolls. Have you looked at the dev posts lately? 80% are about forum trolls rather than dealing with the issues and suggestions of the game! |

Deveshi wrote: Essentially with the SP cap you are simply making a COD in the making. What is beautiful about both Dust and EVE is that SP are limited and precious and as a result pretty much every character in EVE is different with stengths and weaknesses in different areas.
With an SP cap to allow new players to catch up with vets you are basically putting everyone on a level playing ground and the only difference between characters will be if people are actually good at FPS, using aimbots or enjoy a substantial amount of bunny hopping.
I dont want to play another COD, I want to play Dust where my character and its abilities are unique to me, and my individuality as a merc has not been raped by a skill cap!

I dont know where 500k came from, but it is either a misconception or was changed after Chromosome. False You are wrong and this is a garbage thread. Like I said, you can try to ignore it and you can try to claim it as false all you want but it is fact. Go on an alt with no passive SP active on it and no boosters, write down your starting SP, write down your SP when youre consisitently hitting 500 or less SP a match, and then tell me the differance. I gaurantee you it is around 300k SP. If you grind to 0 SP (has anyone actually done this?) you MIGHT (incredibly low odds) hit 400k, but I seriously doubt it.
Okay when you hit 500 or less SP you have not hit the cap. You have not hit the cap until you earn 0 SP. This is the diminishing returns portion of the CAP curve. Ive been playing this last day at 500 and have nearly accumulated the final 100-150K. I have still yet to hit 0. Next time you want to tell us what the actual cap is, make sure you keep going until you hit 0. What you are seeing is your character approaching the limit of the curve which forces a leveling off of the SP gain until the absolute number is hit then it is 0.
But to your credit yes what you have found is the number at which diminishing returns begins to take effect. Because i did in fact keep track of it with rough estimates, started with 1.2ish got to 1.35ish when they started dropping to 2-4k a game, got to 1.5ish when it was high hundreds a game and now am getting round 300-600SP a game and have 1.6.
Yes i have passive sp on but no booster but i havent ever seen my SP gain overnight grow by more than 1-2k SP. So thats 7-14K SP at most during a week. |

Since reset I have acquired approx 600,000sp total, with active booster only. & currently getting almost 1000sp per match. I have never reached the cap & this is my typical experience every week. There is no way the cap is 300,000.
You do realize that if you reach the cap, you stop getting active SP altogether. |
