Network problems are out in force on the new build:
- teleporting across the field
- enemy characters not moving smoothly at close range.
- enemy characters vanishing/ reappearing at longer range when viewed through a scoped weapon (could be another variation of the teleport effect, or due to them stepping outside the draw distance).
- enemies not taking damage even when the game client clearly thinks they should (i.e. enemy shield flares)
- clear mismatch in effects during "toe-to-toe" battles (one side being damaged normally, other side very little or not at all).
It would appear from observing these problems (as a programmer but not a game programmer) that the hit/ miss calculation is being handled client side, while damage calculation and allocation is relying on that round-trip to/ from the server, but that round-trip s not happening. Damage allocation problems are very frequent, affecting perhaps two thirds of all matches to some extent. Serious problems depend upon where you draw the "serious" line, obviously, but I'd say I feel pretty irrelevant in 1/4 to 1/3 of all matches due to not being able to affect the gameworld in any meaningful way.
Load-times on new matches and the suit loadouts, which I initially considered a great strength of the new build, are becoming longer in some (not all) cases - I've no idea why that should be, but obviously I suspect network problems again.
I'm being booted out of games again - hasn't happened for quite some time, but 3 times in the last 2 days (admittedly I've been playing a lot over those days. ..) This coincided with other problems as described above, attributable to network problems.
Weapon reloading now sometimes stalls in some way, leaving you with an unusable weapon in your hands. I've managed to work around this by swapping weapons and then back again (if I have time), otherwise I just lose another clone to it I'll try to find a way to recreate it, but I'm guessing that ammo count may be recorded server side?
And it's only fair to mention, since I like playing with networks, I can tell you that these problems persist across 2 different routers, regardless of whether they're set up using UPnP, port triggering/ forwarding or (reluctantly) DMZing the whole Playstation. Network connection is 20Mb cable with no other problems observed, I have a wired Gb connection to the router via a Cisco switch, all other FPS games seem to run fine, and ping times whenever I've tested then have been just fine.
as an aside on the UPnP front, one of my routers gives me a nice list of all the machines and their UPnP-derived port mapping relationships with the router. The PS3 negotiates one as soon as it's turned on (I'm seeing UDP on port 3658), but Dust, it seems doesn't add its port requirements.
EDIT: Forgot to mention - Using an official Sony PS3 Bluetooth keyboard, I'm also being plagued with menus popping up at inopportune times - that never used to happen, and has cost me a fair few clones. For example, the vehicle/ off-map support menu likes to pop up in combat when my fingers are nowhere near the "V" key. Other screens (such as he player list) also do this now and then. |

the map from the Asia Game show.. there is a spawn point on the back right of the bowl (when you spawn on the small hill) where you spawn and are immediately stuck and cannot get out until you die.
ALSO, same map, when standing in the bowl looking across the road, the spot on the far right at the base of the spire. This has become a popular spot to snipe and whatnot, however what many dont realize is they are soft-spotting. you can crouch and shoot here, doing damage on the opponent but they cannot hit you shooting back. Have only noticed it in this one spot |

It seems this comment of mine was actually rather flawed.. In frustration at consistently unplayable performance, I set up my PC to make a persistent ping test every 30 seconds, the idea being that if the lag is intermittent or "bursty" a one-off ping would be quite likely to miss it. The results were... oh dear...
Ping statistics for 159.253.143.196: Packets: Sent = 23, Received = 12, Lost = 11 (47% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 36ms, Maximum = 212ms, Average = 86ms
47% packet loss, and some pretty high delays. No wonder I'm getting pwnd!
So I delved a little further, and traced the route to the EU server... Now, I should add a few caveats to my findings...
- the location of trans-oceanic internet pipes isn't well publicised for obvious reasons, so I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour (obviously I only started checking when it went wrong).
- IP geographical lookup sites are notoriously unreliable
But, that said, I was a little surprised to find that my link from south-coast UK to the Nederlands was not making the expected brief trip under the North Sea, and was in fact being routed (for 3 of the 13 hops) via Dallas Texas... As far as I could tell (which required some interpretation, so not 100%) most of the packet-loss is happening after the last US router, but before or at the first Nederlands one.
This would certainly go some way to explaining the odd behaviour UK players are experiencing in games against continental European players! It also indicates that UK players should be better off playing on US servers (which are in, yup, Dallas Tx) than the EU ones...
And there's probably nothing CCP can do abut this. Suckage.
However, during the recent HK game show we were given back the ability to choose to games hosted on the Asian server (some beta testers may remember we used to be able to do this for all matches before the match-balancing system was introduced).
I understood that the match-balancing system took connectivity into account when assigning players to matches, but clearly this isn't working properly - I wonder if (as has oft been requested) we could be given back free choice as to which server zone we connect to? |

The "activate squad chat" option is not available in the squad menu. It only offers leave squad. My voice is enabled and push to talk is off. Just no activation anywhere. Unable to communicate to squad through voice. |

iron sights on the 'default' AR are simply horribly crafted. secondly, it's not a matter of 'sensitivity', the shooting mechanics aren't intuitive enough (specially while on ADS) mostly for small arms anyway; iron sights are about precision shooting and i'm better off hip firing even mid range targets. looking down the sights more often than not gets me killed all that is encouraged right now is to over compensate by having better armor/modules/gear. not a better shooting experience. i see top two guys on the other team with 20/0 scores while everyone else barely got 5/5. 22 sandbags and 2 shooters.. all i get left with is "at least i got some some salvage and 100k ISK" .. right...

kicked out of skirmish twice during chromosone. landed on top of a vehicle delivery ship twice. stuck under a blaster installation once. experience lag sometimes maybe once every two or three rounds of skirmish. enemy portable spawn points pop up on scanner then vanish sometimes same with nanohives to. ambush random spawn usually right in the middle of a group of enemy players. no hands floating assault rifle or sniper rifle sometimes it takes about a minute or less for hands to reappear. i hope my input helps. |

bug/problem: Seem to have encounter a glitch twice now, i believe both times it has been around supply crates, where I literally get stuck in the mud! Ive tried jumping out, moving about, crouching etc but nothing lets me get out, i either have to just wait til a enemy comes along and kills me or I suicide |

Problem: Interface is locked at death screen. How it happened: I was killed while manning a turret, and accidently pressed tab (I'm playing with a keyboard) while the death animation was running. After exiting the player list I was of course dead, with the only unusual thing being that I could not see any interface options or chose a respawn point. It seems the game was running in the background because it kept asking me to chose a respawn point when I'm done chosing a fit. Alas I could not use any buttons (on mouse, keyboard or PS controller). Fix: Wait until game finishes, you were then back at the end-game interface without a problem. |

Bug/Problem: Joining games with only a minute or 2 left on them is so annoying! u seem to spend more time connecting to games then actually playing in them!
Bug/Problem: Need some sort of aim assist for ps3 controllers, it becomes very difficult to actually kill targets in Dust when using just the ps3 controller, when theres other ppl out there clearly using a keyboard and mouse which provides them with more accurate aiming. its just simply unfair and u can always tell whos using them cuz theres a massive difference in kill/death scores at the end. I never have problems like this with games like battlefield or COD |

Some bugs i have encountered:
1) The respawn ticker gets stuck at some number of seconds, usually 0:09. 2) The spawn mechanic spawns me in the middle of enemy fire. 3) Ambush round end after only a few kills from the start, (Ran out of time) 4) Nothing shows how SP is acquired per round. |

Controller glitch. When deppressing the Left Analog stick button the same time as holding down L1 my character will throw a grenade and then it takes me to the squad menu. As you can imagine this ALWAYS happen in gun fights as i'm trying to move and aim at the same time. |

Temporary solution: Stop playing for now?
Seems like tonight there is next to no stability at all while playing ambush. I was able to play some matches earlier though usually ended up spawning in halfway through a match in progress or in to a match with only 6 players per team. Now every match crashes. This has happened 3 matches of ambush in a row.

Default Respawn Location: get stuck spawning on a Clone Reanimator or Uplink, does not allow the random default spawn location. This is virtual death sentence for the team your on, you just get spawn camped with no escape.
No Battle Available: get stuck in previous games squad chat. At least now, so far, I can Leave Squad whereas before I never could.
PS3 Controller Design Flaw: random menus/actions occur. This is because the ribbon that goes to the mainboard is only held in place by pressure from a foam block under the ribbon. Eventually the foam block becomes compressed and the you get a short circuiting connection from the buttons/analog sticks to the control board. (Google, there is a fix but will likely damage further the controller while attempting it) |

Having some problems switching equipment on the standard controller. Currently using an AfterGlow PS3 controller. It wasn't a problem until recently, but it seems like the game refuses to acknowledge that I'm holding R2 to bring up the equipment wheel or it'll flash for half a second before disappearing again. Kinda makes running Logistics a problem.
No known temp fix. |

Errors are observed: - the game freezes during the battle and stays in a discharged state. - sometimes there are problems with connectivity and deploy battles impossible, to fix this you have to exit the game and then return. (By the way, you have not thought of placing a button to exit the game to choose another character?) Would be useful in some cases. - Characters should be able to jump over, or do not know if my idea is that there are problems with the jump? if the game is futuristic and costumes are of latest technology, why can not jump out of a pipe? I have more ideas but for now these are the most significant I've observed. Thanks for your attention. |

hey, i dont know if this has been reported yet or if this problem has happened to anyone else. i bought a 7 day active booster and when i tried to apply it it just disappeared and AUR was not refunded. im figuring the reason this happened is because i already had the 30 day active booster applied and maybe the boosters dont like to be stacked. |
