Hey-All
I've made a mistake. I tried to be the all-around guy, and specialized in lots of weapons and skills and it worked well for these last weeks, but now I find that I'm on the slope down getting my ass whooped by those who specialized into one area.
I've got: AR lvl 4 Sniper lvl 3 at least Pistol lvl 2 or 3 Forge lvl 1 Mass D lvl 2 Dropship Gallente lvl 3 Dropship Caldari lvl 1 LAV Gallente lvl 1 Active Scanner lvl 1 Remote Repair lvl 1 And a lot of others that I just can't remember like armor and engineering stuff
I don't have any in dropsuit command because I haven't the cahones to commit to one suit yet and I'm indecisive....as you can see I like areas of Pistol, Mass Driver, and Vehicle Command, but no serious commitment. To William H Bonney-----My Breach Pistol sucks most of the time

The first thing I'd say is grow a pair and pick a suit!
Upgrading from the militia suits should (i would have thought) help you survive straight away.
The assault suits are very good all rounders if you still can't decide.
As well as opening up options to buy the various suit, drop suit command also drops your profile, making you harder to see by other players. If you've not looked at dropping your profile, that might also have something to do with why you're starting to have a harder time of it. |

All of these elements, weapons, suits, modules, equipment, are dependent on your style of gameplay. If you really can't figure that out it's probably best to stick with an Assault using what guns you find most useful or even just fun to use.
I wont make suggestions except that it's really something you need to choose on your own based on what gets you the biggest thrill and sense of fulfillment from the game. That's all on you and nobody else can tell you what will make you the happiest or enjoy the game as much as possible but yourself just figuring things out.
Don't worry about lost skill points, just keep with it, keep experimenting. We're really lucky to get to play so much so early as it lets us all get a chance to experiment and have an idea of what to focus on when we startup in final build, and what we may roll up later as secondary or support skills. |

you only need the first tier breach forge gun. So that solves that one.
I have forge operation and proficiency this build the increase in SP investment to me is pointless.
If you are going to use an AR - I really think you should have it at prof lvl 1 at least. if dont tend to use them then dont bother.
as the other said. Pick a suit. type II help massively.
not sure what your game style/ preference/ having fun is but I suggest you go down that route. |

Look at the suits you're using. construct a basic fit which can be run (or run with slight modifications) by all of them. When you've completed that run several games in this fit, in each suit type. This will give you a feel for which attributes you enjoy/use well in a dropsuit.
Having done that look at the Prototype suits in every class and compare those attributes to the ones you identified as your key areas in a dropsuit. This should give you a direction regarding upgrading you suits. With that direction established the other aspects become easier to decide as you identify strengths you want to enhance and weaknesses you wish to mitigate within the given suit type.
Based on the skills you've listed I have the impression that either Logistics or Assault are likely to be your best bet with the real question being how you engage. Assaults have more durability and smaller hit box, Logi have more fitting options for sub-specializations.
There is a final point to consider, having a Vehicle fit, a general dropsuit fit, and an AV fit is not only viable it's going to be fundamental once live game hits and there are no more wipes. So the question confronting you isn't "which to od" it's "which to do first". I'd personally answer that by filling whatever role I use most often and working outward from there.

I spread my options and sp out as well... It gets a little rough at times. A single squad mate on comms helps out a lot for me. As said above find what works for you and what you like to do and go in that direction. If you love what you do you'll never work a day... I started maxing out the generals i.e. engineering, mechanics, weaponry etc. that way no matter what I'm running I'm getting maximum use out of it. Then moved on to utility and weapon skills... Though the focus wasn't always in that order. Need to do damage and help out to earn... Good luck. |

Based on what you've said I suggest making a logistics suit with a mass driver. You should also spec into LAV's and drive squad mates around the battlefield as well as providing some infantry and AV support with your turret. If you get really dedicated to being a logi you can also spec up into LLV's ( light logistics vehicles) or make logi tank (still willing to give you some more pointers with that, I hope the fitting I gave to you works well) |

While that certainly isn't a bad idea Falcon, I don't think that his strength lies in the Logibro ways.
From what he's listed here i can see he's very tactically flexible and that can work for him, but not as a Logi.
To do what he's good at he'll need something a little tougher to play to his strengths.
I would recomend he play to the fact that he's got an upgraded pistol and use Assault Suit fits. The Assault Suit easily has enough CPU and PG to support a Sniper, Mass Driver, and Assault Rifle fit, along with his Pistol gives a wide array of tactical options.
Sniper Rifle for long Range AR for Mid Range Pistol for Short Range Mass Driver for Special range and tactics.
The vehicles are another matter entirely but the main point being that they're expensive so he may not be able to afford expensive modules or equipment. The Logi doesn't have very much armor or Shield so he must be outfitted with high level defensive modules in order to stay in the thick of things or survive on his own.
One of the main things is that he would have to choose between leaving behind Repair Tools and Equipment for the Forge Gun heavy suits. But again, with Heavies being so pricey, i would recommend he forgo the forge gun and use Assault Suits for their versatility and durability.
Keep the faith. |

Supporting Free Healing's comments, as I often do.
From your other post on the AR's it definitely seems you're leaning toward a forward assault suit runner.
Sniper would be a good fallback or if you're just goofing around, which is how I use it on my primary. My alt is actually spec'd into them and shotguns for both range and stealth infiltration.
As you've pointed out with AR's being how they are now, more strategy and stronger tactical base will prevail more often in confrontations.
As for Sidearm, I'm a fan of the SMG, but only because if I'm in a suit that has a sidearm, I'm using an AR - this continues to be my primary, even on my primary Logi suits - which is still a strong weapon at the ranges a pistol reaches. I only jump on the SMG when I'm within spitting distance of an enemy which is what it's for.
Pistol is good if you've got the patience and gun-game, especially with it's headshot multiplier, but overall the SMG is a somewhat more flexible sidearm due to it's massive ROF and magazine size. Without sidearm rapid reload maxed your pistol can be the death of you if you don't actually finish your target off with one magazine.
General suggestions remain: Circuitry for +5% CPU Engineering for +5% PG Shield Boost 4 for recharge and unlocking: Shield Control for +5% Shield Field Mechanics for +5% Armor
These are just solid passive SUIT skills to help keep you alive. As for weapons, again, it all boils down to what is most effective for you and what you have the most fun with.
Chromosome Skill names, hah.
I apologize if this isn't as long-winded and in-depth as most of my other posts :P |

Thank You all for your suggestions. I ended up skilling into Assault Type II and found that with my lvl 5 shield control, that I could become godlike.
However, with this new build I have had to reuse starter fits to compensate for my new unfamiliarity, but I'm slowly making my way back to my shield bona-fide Type II.
I'm using mostly Breach Gear, as I favor the high damage, they are good for surprise attacks.
@ Chankk Saotome, you will appear here, I read your post on the Iron Sights post, very respectful, I dig it.
Just thanks a lot for the advice. I find that the direction really improves my combat effectiveness. Kudos and Props. |

I've found that light rifles work well with Logi suits. Is this true or is It just my skill and play style?
