Like the title says the type of planet we fight on should effect the type of battle it will be. Here are some ideas
Temperate: Similar to what we have now. Balance between vehicles and infantry.
Barren: It should be a little bit more geared toward vehicles such as tanks and LAVs. Given all the open areas and deserts that are in the maps.
Gas: Obviously there should be a serious emphasis on Air to Air combat. If you wanna see what im thinking look here[/url] It should be a littl ways down the page.
Ice: Less LAVs due to all the ice and hard to maneuver. Tanks could do better because they have treads
Storm: Limited Air capabilities due to the storm. duh
Lava: Similar to Temperate
Ocean: idk about this one. infantry only underwater stations? Super cool one man submarine fights like in the G.I. Joe movie?
Im not saying just because its a barren planet there is no place for infantry or just because its a storm planet means there is no dropships. How ever the devs do it i would like to see that each planet type and its maps lean toward a little different style of play. It shouldn't be limited to just one type of playing though. It would make players think a little more about what kind of load outs they bring to the fight. |

I don't know about oceanic and coastal battles, as we don't have any maritime ships. Might be asking a bit much.
However I think a gas planet map will suit perfectly for air battles. Emphasis on vehicular maps and utilizing advanced sensory systems to increase visibility. (Like IR detection and other post-modern tech to cut through thick atmospherics.)
As things currently are, I have very little incentive to use or buy aerial vehicles. Consider how easily they are taken out by missile turrets and pretty much everything else. And what's worse is that I LOVE piloting these vehicles. But I can't use them because the style of gameplay doesn't complement. |

I think it could be interesting if gravety was taken into effect where low grav planets would increase movement speed and catter to a more arcade style of play and high grav would slow everyone down forcing people to play tacticly to play it smart with positions rather than trying to out run them, which could go into the extremes with extreme low making jumps like 20 to 30 feet high and extreme high grav making smaller vehicles to weak to move and bog down tanks |

Oceanic battles should have infantry in aquatic dropsuit variants, and propulsion system to move horizontally as well as vertically in the water. |

On lesser-gravity planets stamina becomes a non-issue thanks to the increased effectiveness of the soldier's weight and the dropsuit's inherent strength enhancers. In fact if such a thing is implemented, stamina consumption should improve on temperate worlds with fairly earth-like conditions and gradually worsen with increased gravity.
As for vehicles not much should change except for movement speed and weight (mass here is non-issue). |

Perhaps dropships could have a submarine module attached, and be used like that? |

Yeah i think that gravity differences would be important but i was talking mostly about how planets could effect the type of a battle. Mainly vehicular combat, air to air dogfights, or an emphasis on infantry battles.
I would like to see gravity effecting running speed and jump height. I dont think gravity should effect vehicles very much. It would get very complicated. Also on a Gas planet since there is no ground there should be a floor to the space that air vehicle can go. Explained by that they are moving to close to the core and they wont be able fight the gravitational pull |

There are entire underwater cities in the EVE universe.

I would love to fight in an underwater dome. maybe there would be some restrictions on weapons you can use so you don't damage the dome.
also having an entire game mode based on flooding the amarr bases with that failsafe would be pretty cool too. |

I think so too. In my opinion it would make sure that every fight is different beyond just different objectives. Makes you really think about the coming battle |

yeah but that's what we got armored boots for. And anyways the planets are probably alot more like islands and such floating in lava. The use of vehicles im sure would be needed to get around. |

It could be interesting if the planets effected gameplay dramaticly meening players couldnt learn the mechanics as such in corps or aliences it could end up being a case of specialized squads for different planet types like a go to squad who are better at the specific mechanics of each planet |

For oceanic planets perhaps you can have the Mixed Air and ground role. In the Eve Universe the PI infrastructure seem to operate like giant floating rigs. You have the air assets come in mostly for strafing runs and tactical insertions on the city sized structures. fighting underwater in cities would also be fun.
Lava planets can be similar to Temperate with hazards. Step on lava = damage or death. Natural Toxic/corrosive gas clouds could be a nice way to put in area denial features.

Infantry battles should always be present, even if it means special aquatic dropsuits for oceanic underwater combat, or super fireproof lava dropsuits for lava planets. |

I'd like to see each planets gravity and other attributes effect battles. Though CCP would need to fix all those stats because I remember seeing some planets that should really be black holes. |

CCP has already confirmed that they are working on different effects from the Planet you are on. Was about 2 Months ago that they were talking about it in a Interview.
They said it won't be there for Launch though, but it certainly would be worth the wait for.
I will see if I can hunt down the Vid for you all, and Post it here. |

If they make millions of the GAME and you only get to play it based on these IDEAS; I hope you all realize this.
Is the payment in playing. Why not learn yourself and build a game that would make this look like mario....
While you all are at it...Take out the jump button... |
