The matchmaking issues in ambush seem to be regressing. Every match that I join is either almost over (<1min) or completely unbalanced. If you want players other than the Imperfects and Tritan to play you have to have to put people of comparable skill together. I realize that Corp cohesion, teamwork, and comms are all important, but if all things being the same in that regard, and the only difference being gear, standard or even advanced gear will alway lose to prototype gear regardless of skill. Nobody wants to play a game where one person can win an entire match almost single handed. I'm not dissing on the top corps here, they are bad ass and deserve to play against teams of comparable skill, just like the average player would like to get in a match where they feel they are contributing to something other than an Imperfects 37/0 match |

Free beers-I may be wrong about the effectiveness of skill v. load out, by I think that saying that SP doesn't matter after a certain point is false. CCP has already stated that it would take approx 7yrs to fully skill out a single class, that is 7yrs of constantly upgrading and making your character better. I believe the passive skills affect the gameplay more than any modules you would use. Even with the limited amount of passive skills available in the Beta, there is already a widening gap between the skill. Also, while Eve does not provide any protection after a tutorial period, I think making that comparison is somewhat flawed. While technically Eve and Dust are the same game the mechanics are obviously completely different. In Eve you may not be protected from high level players, you do have the ability to flee or even receive backup. in a FPS though you cant do either of those things.
Gyro-while that does seem likely, I don't think that it solves the underlying issue. Very few people are hear because they are looking for a straight Deathmatch or Conquest style gameplay and when that option becomes available the majority of people will switch right along with the top people.
