Yea, then it'd be "realistic"
That's what everyone wants right?

Because CCP wants to avoid a power creep and turning everything into OHK super weapons and removing any meaningful choice. It is also much, much easier to nerf one weapon than to buff all of them. |

The hurt feelings of nerds who have grown reliant on overpowered weaponry are less important than CCP being efficient in its use of time. Rebalancing every weapon and defensive module in the game in order to prevent people like protoman from crying on the forums because CreoDron Breach ARs were nerfed is not exactly a sensible choice. |

OHK from every weapon. That's how Bungie does balance. Make everything OP as **** and then tune it down from there. |

Buffs work when one item is awful compared to all the others in its class. This is often, not the case. Additionally, you are far more vocal when you notice an item that is clearly better rather than when you notice an item is clearly inferior.
I support buffing, but it's rare to find items that need a buff to be in line with othe items. |

The way it works is thus. CCP gathers data on an issue, they look at threads, see playtests, look at threads etc. They then see that there is a problem, but since it takes a while to code in a 'solution' they instead take the easier route temporarily to nerf the heck out of the over-powered, or otherwise unbalanced mechanic. Much easier to do this, and bring on the next bug / exploit before they code in the new build.
Rails were OP, ok.. so we nerf them to death... Missiles become favourite.. they're massively OP, but wasn;t apparent until they became comonly used (ore not as apparanet over other turrets.) now they nerf missiles to buggery... repairing the MCC was an exploit, they removed WP for repping as temporary fix.
Meanwhile, in CCP, they're busy coding in solutions and internally testing their fixes... People only see the initial nerfs, and not the fact that when they new build is released... alot of these exploits, etc are suddenly much more balanced, or exploits are gone (or at least reduced)
Issue #1 -> Nerf #1 -> Brings on next Issue #2 -> Nerf #2 -> Brings on Next Issue #3 -> New build = Fixes for Issues #1, #2, #3.
Else they'd be Issue with #1 -> Code new build -> Release new Build - >Issue #2 Arises.... see the issue? |
