So currently I would say that not everybody likes the current SP Cap, Am I right??? Anyone??? Oh wow everyone...ok then.......... I your glorious Leader Ludwig propose something new.......something fressssssssh.
Lets say that CCP had just skill wiped everyone, so that we're all on the same level. Think of the skill cap as an ever expanding hole, that gets deeper and deeper each week, this my children Is the skill cap..... so to speak. And beside that hole Is a water hose, a device that provides water to flowers, trees, mushrooms, In this case a hole. And at the moment the hose Is turned off.....why Is that my children?
Dust Noob - "Because It broked....derrrrr...."
WRONG NOOB!!!!!!! WROOOOONG!!!!!!!!........
It's off because your not playing Dust right now, your reading your sexy beast of a leaders proposition. But! As soon as you play your first match you gain lets say.....half of what your normally get with the current build were In as of now. Why you ask? Because tbh I myself reach the CAP In 2 days, and by Friday Im done with Dust because I don't feel like getting less than 100 SP a game. But that's just me, maybe some of you like to grind your way to zero SP a game because you want as much SP as possible.
Now that you have acquired SP your hose turns on and your hole fills up with water.
Just In case your lost.
Hole = SP CAP Water = SP
So basically the hole Is your SP CAP, whenever you gain SP your hole fills up with water. But It takes twice as long to fill up the hole, but anyone can catch up to hardcore players... as there known. So If I play For about a year and I have 50 million SP, someone that just made there dust character actually has a chance to catch up to me, you would have to be one hell of a nerd but It would be possible to catch up.

Actually discussed this exact idea with a buddy. Say you get a 200,000 sp cap per day, but you don't play one day. So now your sp cap would be 400,000. |

Skill cap is a problem right now because making SP is the reason people play. Eventually SP will be a means to an end (taking territory), not the end itself, at which point the problem just goes away. |

@slap:
we have had the same talks on our side, the only problem we've run into is distributing the SP; which is one reason we go back to weekly CAP, but that becomes troubling as you'd need to not play for an entire week to double up for the next week. Whereas if do a daily cap, if you miss one day; does that days cap compound to the next day or can u choose what day, or spread it out over a few days? As if people say would onyl get 150k of you 200k per day, and u double it the next day, u still may only get 150k but u lose the change of getting 250k now.
In either situation, in compounding extra SP, CCP would need a new algorithm to double the time till diminishing returns takes affect (as wouldnt wana start getting 2k SP a game if only make 200k so far) |

If you're ever unsure of if you should be using "your" or "you're" just write out "you are". If it makes sense you should be using "you're". Otherwise just use "your".
Distinguishing "their", "there", and "they're" can be a bit more tricky. You can use the above technique for "they're" which is a contraction of "they are" just as "you're" is a contraction of "you are". The former two are not contractions, however. Instead you need to be aware that "there" is a preposition, indicating a location (e.g. "over there") and "their" is a possessive pronoun (e.g. "their SP idea").
Following these simple guidelines will go a long way toward helping you not look like you failed out of the 7th grade. :-) |

I was thinking about making a post the other day asking where people stood on the SP system at this point in the build. I think everyone should atleast be about 5 million Sp which as far as i can tell allows you to run a nearly all tier 3 fit. Its been 2 months and here i am, very nearly maxed out on one specialty. As far as i can tell thats pretty solid timing, I dont want everyone to be completely maxed out in every single profession in 1 year. How does that make sense? This isnt a game like COD where we have to start over every year. This is a long term game! Where long term goals should be forefront. I'm completely OK with how the SP system has worked out in this build. |

I said a player that has played for a year, not a player that maxed out out all of his skills in a year. According to CCP It should take 7 years to max out. |

Holy crap you guys must play a lot to make 200,000 a day. Also, a conical analogy would have worked better. The water height would then rapidly increase at first, but as it gets wider, the height per time unit gets slower. |

I use an alt character from time to time when I start getting low SP. Building two characters allows me to spend SP differently while throwing most my acquired ISK back onto my primary player as my primary uses vehicles while my secondary does not. Works pretty well but get aggravated every once in a while when I am lacking something in-game my other character has. If the cap stays (which is pretty possible), I will most likely run this way during release. |

They should just shorten the reset to 4 or 5 days instead of a full week. And allow allow those that do not grind to continue earning SP until they've reached the max cap. Max cap would be the max SP earned after a specified number of weeks. So max cap for 1 week will be 500K, 2 weeks 1M, etc |

Yup! I am under the strong impression that in our current FPS world dust will not survive without cumulative SP gain. People NEED the chance to catch up it is human nature without the possibility there will be no new people. I also think we need the ability to buy SP feasts so we can change our sp distribution. Many people hats the idea, but again if a new person specializes into something he finds out he doesn't like. There is nothing stopping him from just quitting. Not sure bout you gentlemen, but id rather not play with just 500 people. |

I wouldnt mind if CCP added a respec option that costs real money to purchase and utilize (1 time use each). Could make it the same price as the longest SP booster (or a couple boosters).
