I really hope the final version is A LOT better. So far not very impressed. The weapons lack any sort of tactile feel. The sound design is almost non-existent. The graphics are just garbage, especially for an Unreal 3 engine game. The gameplay is straight up boring. It's like a worse version of MAG. At least MAG had moments where it was fun. This game is not good. I understand this is a beta, but wow, put some effort into drawing the player in. The menu system is also very tedious an poorly assembled. It's almost as if they're trying really hard to make a bland, generic shooter feel deep with overly complicated menus. |

To be honest, it's a bit up and down at the moment. The current version is a bit... meh. The one prior to this, that had a proper assault\defend mode? Now that was good.
Don't worry, it's going to be a lot~ better when it's done, and the connection with EVE will give it something very, very special. |

Hopefully they don't run out of memory available when they add the 16th version of the same gun or module. Maybe devoting that memory to something that makes the game fun, challenging, and engaging on a momen to moment basis. |

In time, it will be a great game. You just have to let it age like wine just like how Eve Online aged in nine years. |

Well that's why where here :) to tell them and so they can make it better :) but like Vallud said, it will be much much better once the game is finaly released, plus even when it is released, the developers will still be adding to it and updating it as that's what CCP do. They actually care about there games :) |

I suppose I must say that dreaded phrase, the phrase that everyone has grown to despise.
It's a beta.
I can hear the typing already, but the fact is, this is a beta, and frankly we aren't supposed to like this game yet. If we do something is wrong.
We are suppose to test this game, and guess what, those threads that are mostly filled with people killing screaming at eachother, occasionally bring up good points, which provides CCP with the feedback it needs, which in turn makes this game better.
All in due time, comrade.
This game has the ability to change the gaming industry, but only if CCP plays the right cards. |

wut
There are plenty of betas I played where they made huge improvements, but I still liked it.
Isn't the point of a game to like it? If we don't like it anymore than the 1st build, then isn't all the work null and void?
Its not the end of the world if there is a bad patch or something, but a game can trend towards being more or less fun in the long run. |

The game has improved A LOT since I first joined the beta, and its continuing to improve. If you really want to help, go to the feedback and requests section to constructively provide feedback and make request to help make the game better, 1 thread per idea/feedback. The devs listen to player feedback, here is a thread of things that are coming in the future based on player suggestions; the posts on the bottom are the most recent and relevant. |

It's almost as if they're trying really hard to make a bland, generic shooter feel deep with overly complicated menus. All we have now is a tiny taste of the "final" version.
Right now, we're just limited to small ambush and skirmish scenarios. Let's put it this way-
In every battle for a district, there will most likely be many small & short skirmishes and ambushes going on in one massive area players can move through freely. Instead of these contributing directly to a win, let's put it this way: ambushes will deplete the (much larger) clone count, while skirmishes will just pave the way for MCCs to move through an area (The tactical advantage of this can only be speculated right now, but obviously it'll be a big one)
There are several of these huge districts making up planets. How you move between these planets depends on a few factors, that I can't remember too specifically.
When a corp has control of a district (or a whole planet, not sure), they'll be able to start gaining valuable materials from that planet, to further their power. If you aren't part of a corp, they'll still be able to pay you a hefty sum to fight for them.
Also (supposedly, from a video) there'll be some way for the corp in control of a district to modify the structures there. They'll start with barren planets, then more and more structures (AKA things making up the maps we're fighting in now) will be added to the district, depending on what the corp wants.
With all that, it seems like a tiny difference when I mention all the new toys to play with that are in development, such as deployable installations and new vehicles. |

I think we are more getting confused on semantics. I mean the ultimate goal of the bet is to have a game people like, and I just kind of assumed that if a beta is progressing well, people will like it more and more as time goes on, not look at it as their job or the daily grind until all of a sudden, release comes and OMGWTFBBQ I <3 TIHS GAEM SOOO MUCHH
Just my opinion tho. I reasoned not liking a game = not makin progress. |

When the base mechanics work smoothly, and the game is stable, then the devs can move onto adding the awesomesauce. |

Snake, eheh. Name a good FPS. Obviously you don't like either Dust or MAG, so what's you flavor? What would you want the game to be like? Or maybe you just want the game to impress you one day. Maybe even give you what need without you ever realizing that it's what you've been missing? Seriously, just give CCP a hint - or it would be unfair to make them try so hard just to disappoint you in the end. U kno what I am sayin? I am jus sayin. |

See now I know that wasn't directed at me but if this was like a sci-fied version of ArmA2, i'd be in heaven. Such a good game, apply that 'real world' tactics level to Dust and then bring in it's scope and scale and it'd be mind blowing.
Alas we can dream. I also doubt many people would like ArmA as much as I ;) |
