So Passive Boosters are now on the market for 7k Aur. Described as "Adds 50% to passive skill gain"
Question to CCP: Can this be applied to Alts where Passive is not activated? |

Pretty sure passive is EXACTLY 1k sp every hour. Trust me, I've done tests and measurements to prove this.
I'm probably going to get this, simply because I don't play enough for an active booster to actually help me, and I have another 9k aur that I'm never going to use before the next update.
I'm guessing that it adds 50% bonus to passive xp that is gained. For instance, every hour you get 1.5k instead of 1k. Also, on an alt, you wouldn't be getting 1k an hour because passive would be turned off. So if you applied the math, it would be a 50% bonus to 0 sp, which means 0 sp.
You could change passive xp to on for an alt, get the booster, and then turn off passive as soon as the booster is done if you want an extra sp gain on your alt without doing anything. |

I for one will not buy this item Don't get me wrong, i really like the item. However it is the exact cost of the active booster with wayyyy less benifit to it. Not going to pay 7k aurum for a whole what 80k more exp each week.. that is lol worthy if people really want to buy it at this price. |

170k a week passive is what I get right now, and I'd be getting 250k a week with it. That's a lot to me.
Look, I play this game so little, that I get more sp from passive than I do actively. Not to mention an update is around the corner, and I don't have anything else to spend aur on right now since I bought the $5 package just for the militia bpo items. |

well for someone who gains the most of their exp from passive because of lack of game time, it's understandable to purchase and I would'nt laugh at.. but don't you feel that the 80k more exp you are paying for, while other people are paying the same price and netting 300k+ more exp a week... wait, actually.. they are paying LESS, just clicked in my head that alot of us only buy the 3 or 1 day boosters now because of cap and get that 300k for 1,500 - 3k aur. It just doesn't fel right, and I don't know why others are not adressing this issue. |

Just tested the time, and confirmed it's 3.6 seconds.
U used a stopwatch with several repeats of timing how long it took to get 10 SP points, then repeated a couple of times with larger amounts of SP - one at 20 and one at 40.
In each case, when calculating the time per tick, it came to 3.6s. |

I just tested the passive booster and used an hour without the booster as a control.
It is 1K SP per hour no booster and 1.5K per hour with booster. Exactly to the second 1 hour too.

If there was a CAP on how much SP players could ever have, and AUR boosters could put you above that level, then you'd have a point. Beyond that, it's not pay to win. |

But they're only 7 day boosters bro, so you'll be spending 7,000 aurum (about $4?) for an extra 80,000 sp. Unless you plan on buying 4 boosters per month, and it still wouldn't be worth it. |

The next update won't have a wipe from what I understand.
Anyway, I bought it as well, but I agree that they should be cheaper. After all, you won't gain anywhere near as much from this as you would from the active booster. |

That's 16$ a month, more than eve online, for 80,000 sp a week? |

Thank you for saying this......some people don't get it.
Anyway, although I didn't sit for an hour to check it appears as the booster gives 1 every 3 secs instead of 4.....which only yields an additional ~50K a week. Not worth it. If it was every 2 secs for a 100% increase then it would be worth it...for me, at least. |

hmm were we to put it in terms of the other 7 day active booster your getting 84K/250K = 34% or about 1/3 the results as the seven day can get you, and that's assuming you don't use the active to cover 3 days of one week and 4 of another.
I think they need to cut the cost down too about 150 AUR. |

For example, I went 4-1 against someone in full ADV gear yesterday in my type-II heavy suit and standard HMG with militia modules. He just kept running into my bullets with his scout suit and Duvolle rifle.

I wouldn't really say 150, unless you forgot a zero and meant 1500, 1500 sounds reasonable to me. As I can pay 3k for a 3 day active and get a few hundred thousand extra sp each week |

I don't play enough during the week to actually make use of the active booster. The smallest amount of money Sony allows you to add to your account is $5, that's 10k aurum. I only wanted to buy militia bpos with it, and ended up with 9k aurum left. The active boosters don't make enough for me to have them be worthwhile with the amount of time I play, so I spent 7k on a passive because I'm never going to use that aurum anyways.
For instance, I make an extra 80k from the passive booster.
On an average of about 7k sp a match, that means I would only be getting 3.5k sp from the active booster, which means I would have to play an average of about 23 matches in order to get 80k from the active booster. I don't have to do anything to get that same amount of sp from the passive booster, and I can play as much or as little as I want.
Because I probably only play about 15 matches a week, I would only be getting around 50k bonus sp with the active one.
I do agree that 80k more during the week is kinda a small amount compared to other players who play a ton alongside an active booster. The passive booster should increase passive sp to 2x the amount to give players twice the amount of passive that they normally would. ______________________________
As for you guys that keep arguing about the rate of passive sp, it is exactly 1 sp/3.6 sec
This corresponds to: 16.67 sp/min 1000 sp/hr 24000 sp/day
I'm not sure if the sp is added during downtime. |
