Please fix the SP system to smooth out character progression. My sollution should eliminate the low SP returns we are getting. Note in the below post that after 3 months of gameplay 4 different mercs end with a certain amount of SP. Someone playing approx 35 hours a week gets over 6 million SP. Someone playing approx 10 hours a week gets just under 6 million SP. Someone playing approx 04 hours a week gets 2.6 million SP. Someone playing only 01 hour a week gets only 1.1 million SP. The later two can regain some unaquired SP when they can play more. Currently for the first few matches someone plays they make a ton of SP per match and that quickly depetes their weekly pool to the point of people making around or less than 1000 SP a match. Going from making some 20k to 50k sp per match down to 1k is a pretty awful feeling and I think it ruins the game for a lot of people. Below I have a detailed example and explination of a sollution to the SP. --- The idea is that the game would record how long you play per week and adjust the SP gain you get based on your play history. This way, the game can adjust the SP gains to the playstyle of each individual player. Each week the player would be able to earn the majority of their given pool. If you start playing less, the SP you don't get from the pool carriers over to the next week which you can collect then. If a player doesn't play above a predefined amount of time, they may take a small hit to their SP pool for that given week. The minimum amount of points a player can get from a match is 1000 and they only hit that point went they play far more than the game anticipates AND when their SP pool is nearly gone. In this example program I have made it possible to consume more SP than the weekly SP they are given but they can only collect in 1000 point incriments and the extra points are deducted from their next weeks total. The following is the output of a program I make and follows the pattern of 4 players over 12 weeks of play. - Addicted Merc plays roughly 30 hours a week. - Average Merc plays a little over 10 hours a week. - Casual Merc plays around 2-4 hours a week. - Inactive Merc plays only 1 hour a week. Addicted and Casual merc both get nearly the same amount of SP each week. Because Addicted merc plays so frequently, he typically gets less SP per match but he typically has the most overall SP. Casual Merc takes a small hit to their SP pool each week and Inactive Merc takes a much larger hit to their SP pool. Neither Casual Merc nor Inactive Merc can collect all of their weekly pool and it carries over into the next week. In order for Casual Merc and Inactive Merc to collect all of their Weekly SP pool, they will need to play for the minimum amount of time. For this example, that is 5 hours of play a week otherwise Inactive Merc would normally get over 100k sp on average per game without the limit. For this example -- The weekly pool given is 500k SP. -- There is an SP penalty if a merc does not play more than 5 hours per week. -- When a penalty occurs, up to 40% of their weekly pool is removed. --- Much of these values can be changed using the program I created and I can post it soon when I clean it up a little bit. It took me two weeks to write and its around 200 lines of code without its tests. I don't believe posting it will break any NDA since the documentation is nearly non-exsistant and all dust related terms are kept to a minimum. If you think it could break the NDA, please let me know.

Everything should work on Python 3 except for the map function in the detailed point output and the lines with print. Variables that can be changed are: The weekly SP pool. Matches played per hour Inactivity time - Minimum time to be played without taking a pool penalty. inactivity drop - The amount of penalty incurred for not playing enough. weekly history - The amount of time the program tracks. Its currently set to 3 weeks and the program takes an average of those 3 weeks to determine the weekly play time. minimum points - The smallest amount of points a merc can get The program can be distributed apon request. There is more to it, but for the majority of your gameplay, that would be the ballpark number. Im glad to hear that CCP is going to revisit the SP system. Currently, I love the cap the game has in place and how they acknowledge that many of us can't dedicate our lives to this game but the SP dropoff is pretty painful. I've been able to play maybe 6 hours this week and I already went fro 30-50k SP down to 3-5k SP. With my system and my current history of gameplay, I'd expect maybe 3-5k sp per match But when I make that little, at least it doesn't feel like a tenth of what I get for the first day of gameplay. (Also, the program will be ready for people to check out soon, if they'd like. It has been a fun project to work on. The complexity of designing gameplay mechanics is migraine inducing.)
