According to the isk reward week and the new build coming sooner.
The statement by Cmdr Wang stockpile tanks and drop ships,
would lead me to the conclusion there will be no wipe next build? |

Could go either way I guess. Last build they had several "play during X and Y time and get 1 million ISK" giveaways corresponding with the initial corp battles. Then when the new build dropped they wiped it all away. In fact, given that they're going to be cranking the ISK payout and lowering vehicle prices I'm guessing there is in fact going to be a wipe, at least of assets if not SP. Giving away a ton of stuff before wiping the slate clean is a decent way of softening the blow. |

There's the unofficial ISK event implication of no wipe, there's the IRC transcript posted a little over a week ago saying there will be no wipe and there's the post by Nova Knife in one of the "what's coming?" threads saying there's no wipe.
As far as I know, there's been nothing 100% confirmed or 100% official on the forums, and the IRC was both vague and in the IRC which means anything said there is unofficial. |

I hear there will be No wipe but the SP will be unallocated so you can put the SP into different places or put it back where you had it previous. |

The Final Wipe will happen when Dust is transferred from the beta server "Singularity", to the Main server " Tranquility". CCP isn't gonna do a copy/paste of everyone's stuff. Too much info to transfer. |

an ability to 'respec' would be a welcome addition to the game... sure at a cost of ISK or even AUR, but allowing that capability would bring about a greater draw |

I would think that would be a good thing to have, say an AUR wipe available once a month on one of your three toons.

EvE allowed a respec of attributes every 6 months. We don't have a any attributes though, attributes in EvE affect the rate of sp gain in different categories. The attribute complication is not needed in dust.
Specing into some things will take longer then a month, so a monthly respec would make people think less and encourage fads in skills.
It was said a few months ago they wanted to be able to do builds without wipes, then they would only wipe if it was necessarily. Moving to new server, game launch, and maybe open beta will have wipes still, or if something goes very wrong they have to reset with wipe.
A repec in a game with level cap, like borderlands or guildwars, is good. In a no cap game like dust or eve it can be harmful.
Here is quote that explains issue that makes repecs hurt new players in game without level cap from eve forum. [PETITION] DONT ALLOW FOR ANY SP RESPEC MECHANISM!!!111oneone
Quote: Eve is all about action and consequences of said actions. As oposed to games like WOW, where there is limit of what i can learn, there is no situation when i hit imaginery wall and can not train further
In EVE when i no longer need some skills (want to check something new) i just start training them. I remap and +5 needed skills and start trainig for new stuff.
This will actually hit new players very hard - imagine that we have 100m SP bitter-vet and 5m SP no-longer-noob fresh player. Imagine now that CCP introduced new type of ships - something in range of new player that don't require tons of skills to fly.
What new payer can do? well, he have no skills to abandon just like that, so he have to train for it. What about bitter-vet? Well, he just drop his Titan 5 and gets all needed skill to lvl 5 in minutes.
This in turn will cause even larger gap between veterans and new players. Right now when something new is introduced (PI for example) all payers are on equal footing - everyone have to train to use new stuff. OFC veterans have more isk = can use +5, possible have remaps for such occasion stored, so they can get there slightly faster - but they still have to train to it.
There are a lot of other arguments against respecs in a capless game, most games have caps so that is what most are used to. So I agree a respec may draw players, but it will also push them out after they see what it does without level cap. |

ISK, AUR, SP, anything, but yes. Not to be able to respec on an FPS that has a skill tree this complicated ( for noobs ) and takes this long, especislly with SP cap is well. Crap tbh. |

How do they stick with 'actions have consequences' mantra and stopping players changing to FotM (flavour of the month) builds constantly?
Devils advocate here, I don't know if they can balance both points of view. |

This would be what I'd like to see too, of all the options. But I'd like an assets wipe on top. |
