Testing to me = something scientific, against a common control. Direction & Dialogue
Presently all we have is a free for all, no frame of reference, no controls, no meaningful dialogue. How the hell can anything be tested?
Personal weapons need addressing still, then there is still some controversy about suits and their role. Vehicles need a whole lot of work (no just kitten missiles off from the game).
But the worst bit is dialogue, it seems IRC or bust. Forums are full of threads about issues, no order given by the forum creator, no feedback, from devs. Like this post, it's a bitching ground to let off steam and a place to state the obvious, but you may as well talk to the wall. At least then you get some sound reflection.
Testers, and i use the term loosely, are basically players along for the ride. There are guys out there who try to test and give great feedback but as is oft stated not in irc, no come back. They don't know if their work is valued or skipped out with the trash. They might not be CCP employees, but a personal message or dialogue about findings would go a long way, we all then know you thoughts and direction.
CCP, if you want peeps to test then give peeps the ability to receive feed back. Create specific threads for different issues, ask us to test certain things, rather than issue pointless distractions like a tournament. If you CBA doing that, just release the game now in time for Xmas and see how it goes. You may as well choose the latter if it is to continue like this. |

Seeing how people play, what is popular, and what gets purchased and used is a form of testing.
They have a couple Devs reading the forums and taking the feedback, even if they don't reply directly. |

every thing you and every one else do is being data mined and applied to spread sheets. if CCP wants us to break something specific they will make that desire known. |

All of that exists. We are the lab rats, and generally lab rats don't get to read the test results or determine what the next test will be.

CCP already has testers that do things orderly and test the things _they_ can think of. |

Things that need testing in a controlled environment are tested in a controlled environment by CCP.
But some things need repeat testing "in the wild" - in this case, that means the chaos of public matches.
The parameters of our testing are tightly controlled by CCP. Remember when they handed everyone the keys to a cheap tank and Dropship as well as a better LAV fitting than we get for free in the current build? People didn't get that, but vehicles are now VULNERABLE against infantry, while still being a powerful force on the battlefield. |

We're here to test server load and maybe unearth some bugs here and there. I don't imagine they care about our opinion on balance issues, as they no doubt spend time every day dealing with that themselves. Plus, the very lengthy periods between matches would mean our opinions become out-of-date shortly after we experience a new build.
In other words, don't worry about it. Just play the game, or don't, and if you see bugs post it on the bug forum. They're not asking us to do stuff for a reason. |

Always said there needed to be some sort of ingame report / support function , even if it was just a preset drop down menu. |
