To immediately get to the point- why should type II dropsuits cost more than type I?
It isn't like they're necessarily better than type I, it's just a subtype of a suit meant to support a different play style- in fact, I think lowering the cost to that of type I suits would greatly widen some of the setups and strategies we see.
If we already put more SP into being able to use dropsuits that are the same thing as less skill-intensive dropsuits (aside from some tweaks rearranging strengths and weaknesses), they should cost the same.
Who's with me on this? |

And type II isn't always about shields-
- scout type II is like a logi/scout hybrid- some stuff as type I, only without a sidearm slot, and a second equipment slot
- logistics type II is faster, but I believe it's also squishier (can't remember the exact weakness)

Who's with me on this? Well, you get more overall health with the type II. 225 +105 > 125 + 175. Also, the type II has more CPUs and PGs than the type I so it should cost more. Are we looking at the same dropsuits? At least for scout suits, they're exactly the same, aside from the slots being changed |
