I want this for PVE. Zombies are overdone, and I want the zombie fad to just die.
KAGEHOSHI Horned Wolf wrote: PVE AGAINST NATIVE LIFE: I know we are getting PVE against rogue drones, but there is another option for PVE missions as well. We know there is life in New Eden, and fighting native life on planets would make for great PVE. Extraterrestrial encounters with life is one of the greatest and most exciting aspects in the genre of space scifi. I am not asking for little green men, humanoids, or anything with human-like intelligence, but just some animals adapted to their environments. Imagine fighting insect-like animals the size of of an elephant, or creatures similar to dinosaurs. [HOW]: Option 1: You're hired to secure a location, or objective on a planet that happens to have life evolved on it. The mission site is full of hostile and predatory wildlife that you must fend off until the mission is complete. This could be problematic since our advanced weapons could probably 1-shot kill any animal, but extremely large dinosaur sized animals could justify taking more than 1 shot to kill, and smaller predators can be really fast and utilize cover in grass to evade being hit at all. Option 2: When the "Gladiator Arena" E-sports modes comes to Dust 514, one of such modes could involve fighting vicious predatory animals in a colosseum much like gladiators of Rome fought lions for the entertainment of the masses. Other deathmatch style PVP battles can have some animals thrown into the mix. These animals can be genetically augmented to justify needing more than 1 shot to kill, or weapons we can use could be limited, and maybe we should be fighting without the protection of a dropsuit. [WHY]: It would add even more variety to the game, and make the game generally feel more "complete" inb4 no other life forms on EVE LifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeLifeI posted this idea before a long time ago in some big list thread, but it never got its own dedicated request thread.

They are the exception, they have a leader, they are cyborgs, and are generally cool... also Dead Space necromorphs are an exception; they're awesome. |

Nova Knife wrote:PVE Will be a survival/horde mode against rogue drones.
The idea is that drones will infest districts, and when they do the productivity of the district will be penalized. The owner of the district (if it is a player) will have to of assign a contract to repel the drones, and will be able to choose to make the contract public or limit it to his own corp/alliance. There will be NPC contracts for this as well.
You'll be able to 'freelance' these contracts if you like, using your battle finder to jump into a 'quick match' for pve, or look for specific contracts with your friends, etc.
The idea is that once you take + conquer a district, you don't only need to worry about players coming after it, NPC's will come after your districts too (Though not to conquer them directly) So, the PVP Players take the districts initially, and the PVE players make sure they're always nice and tidy and without unwanted NPC guests. Sounds cool if it's true...... |

Vex Darkness wrote:I'm digging the PvP gameplay, even tho I died a hundred times lol, but as in EVE On-line, I prefer PvE. Is there going to be any PvE content in Dust?
yes, if you watch the opening tutorial video that you get when you make a new character it says that pve will be in the game. will be fighting drones it looks like (obviously scaled down drones) it looks interesting, if you dont wanna make a new character to see it you can also look the video up on CCP's youtube channel, its like "introduction to dust" or something like that??? |
