A drop able equipment that puts up a small radius AoE electronic countermeasure that neutralizes missile, as in missile fired from vehicle don't explode when thet hit in this are and swarns cant be fired in this area |

O my god, defender missile equipment! What an awesome idea. An equipment item or a larger installation version that will fire and take out missiles. This would be very cool i like the idea and its already an EVE thing. +1 |

They're called Defender Missiles ...they fit in a normal missile launcher but they target incoming missiles and destroy them rather than heading towards your opponents ship. |

Heh, maybe a shoulder mounted CIWS. Might be getting into Ironman zone with that though. |

My Apologies.
CIWS pronounced (Sea-Whiz) - Close In Weapons System.
It's the R2-D2 looking anti missile system equipped on US Navy warships. Basically a big ass Radar with a mini gun on it that automatically tracks and shoots down incoming missiles.
R2-D2 pronounced (Are Too Dee Too) - Reel 2 Dialog 2.
A Driod from the Star Wars movies.

Almost all navys have ciws now, most still look like r2d2.
EvE counters are smart bombs and defender missiles.
Real life counters are ciwis, hard kill and soft kill active defense.
Smartbomb: infinite ammo weapon that causes damage in radius around target, used to counter fast circle strafing and if timed right destroy missiles just before impact.
Defender missiles: while active fires small missiles at closest incoming missile, was broken(not working right) in eve last I checked.
Ciwis and hard kill active defense: intercept missile with gatling guns, small missiles, grenade, or claymore like charge.
Soft kill active defense: jams guidance, decoys with flares/ir emitters/random laser patterns, or obscure with smoke/chaff before impact.
Any or all of these would be great, a sidearm smart bomb would be a nice counter for heavies worried about being circles by scouts too.
Especially since they are sometimes called disco lights in eve, perfect to counter the disco shoes. |

my idea is similar to this except it disable the detonator in the missile with EMP. |
