Im a slender female in a mans body?
Yea I can get behind that
Edit: wont lie I find it harder to kill female assult and logi suits but well yea could be as ya say and its all in the mind. Guess will have to head over to the asia servers(no one evar on dem servers) with some peeps to test it out. |

I'd argue the scout female is actually a bigger profile, but the female assault and logi are definately skinnier. The female assault can even be confused for a scout at times it's that skinny.
Since I play scout I've not really noticed the difference tbh, but when I come up against a female assault you can instantly tell it's smaller than the male version.
The hit boxes should be the same if they aren't already, but I've not noticed "phantom" flashes that do damage when fighting a female assault so I'd argue they're not the same at all. |

ive noticed this as well, in game the female suits except the heavy seem to be more slender than the male. So to me it seems that they are a bit harder to hit. But im complaining I really dont care. |

Keep females if you want, but make them the same damn size as us chaps. idk, i said this and was told i'm crazy lol to me it felt like their hit boxes were smaller... but i was told it was a placebo affect... idk.

If you mean the shield flare, that's a graphical effect tied to the geometry of the model, not to the hit box.
TBH I don't see what's to argue about here, CCP said the hit boxes are the same for male and female, and they have no reason to lie about it. Also, as it is simply a case of using the same rigging for both models, it's damn near impossible to mess it up by accident. |

I'm surprised a number of you better players have such a problem with perception. CCP said same hit box, so as long as your always aiming your best, you should hit. What, did a female make you go 30/4 2 or 3 times? :P |

Templar Two wrote:Different character size usually means different hit boxes. In Tekken female characters don't have the same hit box of Kuma or Panda.
Now if the hit boxes for female suits are bigger then the actual models then CCP messed it up because that would mean that female suits, despite their actual size, are as easy to hit as males which is physically IMPOSSIBLE
Now what we need is hit boxes appropriate to body size. If female have the same hit boxes of males, as I said, it's simply wrong: it can't physically be that way. Female suits on the other hand can't be too thin/slim because that would make them harder to hit: balance wise that is wrong as well.
In PalnetSide 2 female suits are different than male suits but are not harder to hit because they aren't much slimmer. In Dust 514 should be the same. If female suits have to remain slimmer and have smaller hit boxes then they should also have less HP to balance things BUT I don't know if this is the right course of action.
You obviously know little to nothing about game design if you think it's "physically IMPOSSIBLE". Just because you can't see it, it doesn't mean it's not there. You seem to think that the hitbox and the skin are one, this is wrong, it's two separate things. |

Agreed. Take a look at flight simulator 2004 from Microsoft. I can easily program a Cessna Skylane to fly with the handling characteristics of Boeing 747 as well as have the crash box the same size as that of a Concord. |

Get a friend, make an alt whose a female, q-sync together, go near the redline of an ambush map, have him shoot you a single time with a gun at the edge of your suit. You'll notice the shield lighting effect appears some distance from your actual suit. |

Both female and male models of dropsuits have absolutely the same hitbox and detect hits the same way.

This happens with any kind of suit, any gender. Hit detection has been terrible for multiple builds now. This is nothing to do with suit graphics, although anecdotally I think scout suits incur bad hit detection more (even when stationary). Anyone who has played a sniper for Codex and Precursor both will tell you all about how frustrating it is to deal with the shield flash happening and yet no damage being done. It's no different this build than last. |

^^^ This Even if they do have the same hitboxes, the smaller player model is easier to hide. If the hitbox is the same I should just spray & pray as 1/4 of my targets mass is invisible... Kknp
@Frame Play an internal round with as balanced teams as you guys can manage, and 1 side go female model, 1 side male. You'll see where I'm comming from perhaps. Smaller visual target means you can corner strafe more effectively. |

Strongly agree
detection works very well on the female dropsuits
dropsuits the women are just thinner than the male dropsuits. So they have smaller area of damage;)
so I have only one thing to say to those who complain ...
do not get me wrong but ...
just simply well targeted

The problem isn't a change in hitbox sizes, it's a change in the estimated area of the hitbox. People will hold off shooting what is actually a large target, just because the character model isn't in the crosshairs. There is already enough guesswork going on when it comes to lag & that bloody shield flash bug, we don't need partially invisible soldiers added to the mix. |
