I'm really sorry to say this, but at last this is the beta for right?
I still think that this game is boring, dull, bland and unexciting.
It's hard to point on it. I'm missing the action, the atmosphere still feels viscous, the maps to big or to less player.
I know this has bin pointing out before and you can feel free to bury my posting, I just want to remember CCP that the core mechanic don't do well.
If there are other players you think the way I do please join this posting. |

Dude I hate how slow it is now. It wouldnt have been so bad if they hadnt have given us so much fun a few builds back then took it away and made a camp sniper fest.
Lucky for me I enjoy the meta game and no matter how hard they try to ruin the fast paced action I will still play this game I just wont fight so much.

Game needs tweaking. One build it will feel just about right, then the next something intangible changes and it just feels off. Little things add up, too, like hit detection errors being back, dropships being a little too dominant in the hands of a good pilot, ambush spawning mechanics, lag/frame rate issues, swarm pathing mechanics, sniper red zone madness, and so on.
This build it's not one thing as I see it, it's all the little things adding up to the game being less fun than previous builds. Right now the SP cap keeps me coming back because I can't let myself fall behind the curve (great time sink mechanic CCP! You force me to play! Rawr!). Also, the tourney. Gotta support my corp financially and physically. |

Well, we have plenty of time now to iron out the issues first before the game can actually be fun. Since now we have until possibly mid 2013, according to Eurogamer after interviewing CCP, things might improve without feeling so rushed this time. |

In regards to the maps being too big, some of us including me feel that the maps are actually too small. Please keep in mind that vtol fighters will be implemented and will require massive space due to their speed. |

And then there is me, I still feel the game may even be still too fast. I always try to picture what I can and can't do in real life and how difficult certain things may be and relate that to the game. Lightning fast side steping left then right while jumping and still hitting what I'm aiming at? Yeah right lol. But I come from the fps's of ArmA and AA. Where having human limitations in a video game makes the challenge more enjoyable when you come out of a bad situation on top.
So the speed of the movement dosn't make me think this game is boring, playing solo makes this game boring. When my Corpmates aren't on I can only last through a few games then have to play something else. When they are on though I could probably play all day and not be bored playing the same 4 maps. lol

The maps aren't small, If you zoom out you will see they are quite massive. They just cordon off tiny sections for us to play in. Like kids in a tiny playpen. |

That's what I was talking about. The red zone just makes the maps feel small no matter how big they actually are. |

Looks like the footage might be sped up a little bit honestly. The reloading seems too fast, but mainly it looks like the objectives are blinking much faster than normal. Of course, I run a heavy so when I wanna kill someone I usually just fedex my bullets to their face cause that's faster than me trying to run to where they are. So everything seems fast to me.

Don't use Fedex. Use UPS. |

The story (which we have yet to dive in is interesting) is even here yet. This a MMOFPS. Its a marathon not a sprint, Give it time. |

There is a massive problem with Dust514.
If I spec as Forgegun master, and the enemy bring no real vehicles, I have a boring game. If I spec assault, and the enemy brings mech missile spam, I have a horrible game, and it's boring to boot. If I spec Logi, and my team don't work with me, I have a boring game. If I spec vehicle, but have useless gunners, I have a boring game.
So I spec everything... Which means that currently, having not used a 30 day booster, I'm around 700,000 SP+ behind my corp mates, and have specialised far less. For most players, playing random matches, they are going to need to be jack of all trades characters. Which is not usually what more organised corps are looking for. And it means that someone who specialised in any the roles you play will face stomp you. |

Corp battles don't feel dull at all. Pretty nail biting stuff - you really feel you wins and losses given how much isk is at stake. When game is out i think a lot of battles will be like this. |

The game is slow and the maps are too big if you are from Asia. Too few Asian players are playing which is why it gets boring, try to squad up with US or Euro players and you will see a world of difference.
CCP should really just remove Asia servers altogether in closed beta and allow us to join any of the other servers instead.
Either that or fix the game matching mechanism already so we can choose which battle / server we will play in. |

I'm in the same boat, a pathological generalist, somehow psychologically incapable of specializing. No worries tho, it'll just take(a lot) longer to get my builds to a good place. Training up an alt or two slows you down even more. But for me it's all good, the self-sufficiency for pub matches, and the flexibility to support my team for corp matches makes the slow levelling worthwhile.
But, and it's an important But, we all need to distinguish between pub matches and corp battles. Tony is right on the money here, and when we're all on the forums bitching about CCP's terribad balancing or contributing our brilliant ideas which will make DUST 'what we need it to be', we need to state clearly if we're talking about pub or corp matches, because it changes the argument in a lot of cases.
I'm as guilty of failing to make this distinction as anyone, simply because we spend such a large proportion of our DUST beta time in pub matches, and soloing a big proportion of the time doesn't help clarify the thought processes either.

On the flip-side, when it works it works.
I had the most fun playing last night. Played four matches and in both my team knew what they were doing. Did my job as a Logi and healed and resupplyed. Felt really good, earned me around 30,000 SP a game. We lost two of the games, but 3 out of 4 were extremely close. The fourth was just a red line fest, which made me feel kind of bad for the enemy, but I had to get my SP somehow and my teammates weren't just going to repair, revive, and regen ammo on their own. |
