Hi,
I am at a point in the game where I think I need some guidance and advice. So I've donned my flame retardant merc suit and have braved the forum.
- I have around 2,280,328 Skill Points, set up as shown below.
I was wondering what advice you might give to someone at this sort of level. I am not very good at the game and have just had my best SP gain of around 27k, however my normal gain per match is somewhere a lot closer to 10-15k, so I need to spend my points carefully as they are not easy to come by.
The Laser Rifle is my favourite setup currently but I am happy just being in the game so can put points into anything really. I quite like Sniping and am pretty reasonable at it too. Therefore I was thinking that pushing Sharpshooter up would be a good move.
I am somewhat limited by ISK income, though, that does seem to be growing with the new build (like everyone else I imagine). Though, I'll address the ISK in a mo.

- How do I know when I am ready to step up into more expensive suits? I have a KD ration of 0.39 and my suits are either entirely BPO or cost a maximum of 6000 ISK. I generally bring in around 50-80,000 per game.
- I've just seen someone go 54 and 0 in a game. How is that kinda stat possible?

Funnily enough, I almost run the reverse at the moment. As soon as I see I am up against the Frenchies.... I switch down to my all milita gear....... Can't afford to lose 15 suits to those chaps.

If I want to start upgrading, does it have to start with the suits?
I'm using Militia suits currently, does the next step require points in the relevant race?

Thanks for the replies chaps.
I prefer mid to long range and it was suggested I try the Laser weapons. I started with the Tactical Rifle that allowed me to snipe at fairly close ranges, but I think as people level up and leave me behind I struggle to make an impact with it now. It takes me 10 or so shots to take someone down in it and by that point I'm either dead or they are not there any more.
The Laser was a step forward for me. The range is nice, though I think I'll work on the bonus to range some more. But also the ability to just brush over a target as I over and undershoot whilst still applying damage seems to work. It has certainly improved my targeting now as I can move back to the militia AR and hit quite well..... sadly again though I don't seem to be able to apply enough damage to take anyone down with it. This always strikes me as odd as I get taken down regularly with the militia rifles.
I really appreciate your offer of squading up with me and I'll try and get setup to do that. I had problems setting up my BT MIC yesterday, but I think it might have resolved itself with a restart today.
I feel I am kind of at that point where I think moving up some gear will make a big difference. I'm not talking about taking me to 20 kills or anything, but might just push me into a positive K/D ration. Recently I have been at around the 3/5 mark.
All that said........ I am brand spaking new to FPS so my talk could be as bad as my aim ;)

Hi,
Just wanted to post back to say thank you for all the support and advice.
I upgraded my gun to the blindfire and WOW..... what a difference. I just went 11/6 which is by FAR my best game ever. Others havent been quite so good, but when I'm not backed up against the MCC with snipers aiming at me, I am now in a positive K/D.
Will run around with this for a little while longer (rest of kit is milita, so I only spend 50Au) per death!!!
