Yes! They are.
We know blasters are supposed to be AI. They have a short range and work well against infantry.
Rails are AV and Anti Installations and they dont do much damage to infantry. You can snipe tanks and dripshits from a mile away. Works are intended.
Missiles however work well against both AI and AV. For crying out loud I have been sniping people with missiles across the friggin map! Yes! I kill doods with my missile gunlogi across the map. This is not ok!
I am not saying nerf the missiles. I am saying reduce the range of them. Introduce a parabola system where in the path it follows, follows the path of a parabola. |

Forge gun>rails - Forge gun can do everything that the large railgun can do except better and cheaper ISK/SP wise and also hit infantry really well
If you reduce range of missiles then reduce the range of SL missiles which also travel accross the map and then bend around the mountain you are using for cover |

Quite contrary ole chum, I prefer the swarm launchers to have that feature. They work like heat seeking missiles which I am totally ok with. I think them swarms mechanics need a buff. |

A buff?
So an extra 20% damage buff on top of being put back to what it once was and bending around cover is not enough while being able to lock on through mountains and fired from the otherside of the map isnt enough?
The SL is like the small missile launcher, so if small missiles has a range cap so should SL and large really shouldnt get hit with the cap |

Dude. I have seen you play and you use a shield gunlogi. If you have the kind of damage resistance I have and use the same mods I do you can get anywhere between 47% to 64% shield resistance. I have survived every orbital strike thrown at me but 1. The only time the OBS got me is when both my shield resistance and shield recharge were in a cooldown state after destroying another gunlogi. It is more than enough.
And the 30% buff affects armor, not shields. Armor tanks need a armor hardner but thats about it.
Swarm mechanics need a buff. EOS! |

I use active shield resists because the passives ones got nerfed to nothing and 3 of em may give me 35% to 40% max, active ones can give me 30% for 10sec or 90% for 8sec but with a long 30sec cooldown time
OB wise not many are called in anymore but i can always sponge one as it

Missiles right now have too much damage in general, and too much direct damage and range in specific. That is why they completely outclass railguns. Splash weapons should do significantly less DPS to have any semblance of balance. |

The base range is definitely way too big but right now it has to be because its the only way to kill. |

When no one, and I mean no one, puts a blaster on a DS there is either something wrong with missiles or something wrong with blasters. Not jumping on the nerf missiles wagon, yet, but if all anyone uses is one of two options, then there is an imbalance there. |

Amen Bro! No need to nerf anything. We need to focus on other options such as increasing/decreasing ranges or decreasing cool down times or increasing heat up times. |

swarms are just as ridiculous as missile launchers.
tired of trying to hide behind cover only to have 6 sets of swarms fired at me, do figure eights around buildings on the way, then fly straight into the ground, only to burrow through the planet and come up from the ground directly underneath my tank for damage. the swarms are super effective!
with the reduction to survivability in tanks this build, nerfing the large missile launchers would be a bad idea. at last not while joe **** the rag man can shoot swarms at me from under the mcc. |

The range of large missile is fine, at long range you can sidestep the blast radius while using ads with swarm, I did this last build to solo a over confident gunnlogi tank at around 400m. He realized he should retreat when two volleys were locked and inbound.
The missiles should fly straight while the motors are burning, maybe have the motor burn out before max range? Then a very long range shoot would need to be aimed up to maximize the arc after the burnout. 200m of straight line then begin arc like mass driver for large? Small should probably self destruct at burnout, any arc after burnout would probably extend range unless burnout was almost immediate.
The small missile could have reduced range and reduced splash damage. This would give it role similar to mass driver, weaken/scatter groups of enemies for more precise weapons to finish.
A lock-on version of large missile would be nice, just a swarm with faster lock-on and more splash damage would work fine. Description of hav says it can be made anti-air, and description of missile says it can engage air targets.
More variants of shoulder fired missiles would be welcome too, ones that turn at current aim point and ones that are directly steered from the missile point of view for example. More warhead options like a dot incendiary, flux, ect.. |

A: As a swarm user, you cannot lock on targets if they're behind an object, terrain, etc. Its most likely they had you locked an fired before you got behind cover, at which point the missiles are already locked onto your electrical signal. I've never seen missiles go through the ground. You were most likely hit by AV nades. I've also never seen missiles I've fired from a SL go swerving around buildings. They generally hit the wall and blow up. If they don't hit a wall when they shoot sideways after they are first fired. On ground vehicles, I'd much rather see swarms do an artillery arch, like a Javelin missile, or the LRMs from MWO do, and come in from above the target.
B: Small missile turrets do need to be fixed. They're just a tad OP right now......Just a tad. I starting to think that Large missile turrets need to be a lock on weapon, for use as anti vehicle, and mid range anti installation with splash damage. This would make them useful against LAV, and DS. Not so much so as spamming missile death on infantry. Also great for taking out turret installations, enemy clone centers, and supply depots.
The large rail turrets aren't bad, they're good for long range AV sniping, can still snipe infantry, and are good for taking out installations as well, without having missile flight time. Though due to the nature of Railgun slugs I do think they need some minor blast damage. Even with rail gun main up close I've still managed to pop a couple heavies that were trying to forge my tank. |

but seriously, tired of swarms doing straight 90 degree turns to chase me around cover. staight up ridiculous.
we need a faster, less damage swarm variant for anti-dropship, or just fix the swarm speed in the first place. if a dropship is gonna outrun a swarm volley, make it use afterburners |

Meanwhile, I had my tank blown up trying to kill multiple AV dudes on that 3 point map, I don't recall seeing you get a lot of kills either -_- |

Now why would you pull out your Sigaris and charge head on when you have a bunch of randoms running like headless chickens in that game? If there are random blue dots in my team I stay far away from them. They tend to attract swarms and forge guns.
If it makes you feel any better I did loose my 750K Gunlogi because I tried to help my team. I went 23-0 in that game. Jumped out just in time.

There is no point pulling oput your expensive requirement when you have random blue dots in your team. All they wanna do is sit in the tank and get the easy kills. So many times I pulled up in front of B and none of my gunners jumped out to hack it.
Why should I even try and help my team when they dont want to help themselves?
Edit PS: People like us spend whatever time we can when we are done with college/work etc and grind SP/ISK to get the cool stuff. Why should I let any scrub piggy back of me unless its my own corp or alliance? No friggin way! If you ever wanna roll with me pull out your Gek or Broadside and send me an invite. Lets go destroy peeps that way.

I think the main problem with missles is the fire rate. They fire waaaay too fast, considering they are awesome against vehicles and infantry. Let them be good against both, just reduce the **** out of the fire rate. |

can't make them too good or the vehicle pilots will complain about their stuff. despite the short comings i still love swarms.

Make the other turrets worthwhile before you do any nering better yet make specilized mods for dealing with fragmetation from missiles, nades and other stuff. Stop asking for nerfs the missile turret is the only useful thing left to tanks in a game with few other things to blast other than infantry |
