One of those weapons are not future weapons, but something that exists for real, that disqualifies it. Another weapon model is already in used in the Alien movie series, and are used by the marines. I suppose they can be used for inspiration.

I don't play JRPGs because they're usually so generic and cheesy, and I don't like turn based combat mechanics, but artistically they are more interesting than western RPGs that are usually just some dull medieval inspired junk visually. Western RPGs are lacking in any artistic flare. Generally though, JRPGs are artistically superior, so I tend to find myself liking things from them, like weapons. Anime swords are usually just katanas, katanas look cool and all, but I've seen much more beautiful weapons. There are some anime swords I've seen that did stand out to me, but they weren't the coolest ones I've seen.
